As of now I don't have any regrets. The performance of the Tesla makes up for any short comings it has..the quick bursts of speed can make you sick, but it's worth it.

Having said that the fit and finish of Tesla is definitely everything you have read... it is awful! Perhaps more on the Y since it is relatively new. I had a dent on my brand new Tesla on delivery along with the usual paint issues. Worse yet, the dealer and service make you the owner of a brand new car deal with the body shop etc and took little ownership. Very unprofessional and they make it feel like it is a privilege for you to have their car! Situation got better after escalation but should never have needed that. Having said that, once we got the car back and drive it, it is a great car to drive. But thought you should also consider this other side of ownership besides just the car itself. Hopefully after those delivery issues are done, I won't have to deal with the service as much. The frequent software update / like an update on your phone and laptop is kind of exciting. Different kind of car, different kind of fun. And different kind of ownership. |

Tesla has issues with the build quality, I wouldn't mind having on for daily commute in around town only (I have a Prius for that and long distance runs). I purchase cars to keep and the Tesla owners that I know are giving the cars back when the lease is up and not purchased due to lack of build quality, constant visits to the Tesla repair facility. Out of warranty the service call is a minimum $3k to 4k per visit. Once they get a decent battery range and superchargers available all across the highways.. then maybe I would consider one.
