2015 original software

I still have my original 2015 software in my 2015 F80, as it came from BMW. I am wondering how many still have their original software, 1st generation, and have you ever considered updating to the most current offering available? If so,why, and did you like the upgrade?

I think most 2015 owners agree the original sw was somewhat of a handful in regards to ease of control. But I quickly found that if I used the gas peddle with control and finessed the car gave an enjoyable and exhilarating experience, mild to wild to mild again...what ever your mood desired.

So, any original sw cars still out there? As BMW service loves to do updates when they have you in for service, Iím guessing not. Iím only posting this inquiry because I test drove a 2018 noncomp F80(as mine is) recently and compared to my 2015 came away feeling the car was less dynamic or even thrilling.

I have original software. Would have paid to update but dealer played as if they had no idea what I was talking about. I think they were thinking I wanted a free update. Decided I'll stay where I am and wait for the G80

Same here original software. It has more torque down low vs the new software and I have no problem with traction with 295 rears

I drove a comp pack m3 at a bmw event and I agree with you, it seemed less power down low. I am avoiding any updates as I love my car as it is. If you look at c and d times of comp pack vs civic m3 the times r either identical or slower yet the comp has slightly more hp

Look forward to driving the new G80 as well. With the new Alfa coupe coming in 2019, the G80 better be pretty damn good too!

Did you use spacers? What did you do up front, 265 or 255?

No spacers, stock 19" rims work with 295 rears and 265 fronts, got some great advice from the tire section of this forum.

Use last gen M5, 295/35/ZR19
and AMG GT S fronts 265/35/ZR19 (or you can use oem 255 which is what I have on, and it is fine with the 295 rears.)

No rubbing, had them on for almost a year now, no going back, all pluses no downs.

Only cared about updating in hopes it would fix the herky jerky 3-2-1 downshifting on the DCT. GTS DCT flash fixed that so now I don't really care about it.

true but the curve is awesome. Even it were 10ps more with 2015 software, I'd take the updates.
