I'm counting on Europe on this one, I'm assuming that the dip won't be as deep here as it was in 1990, or 2008. You're timing it right. I'm looking for new furry friends to invest in already, I'm counting on june-July start for the decline, and the crash will be in the Oct - Feb period.

Again, he produced raw intelligence, and he says 50-50 on that, 70-90 on the rest.

Anybody that thinks that Trump isn't AT A MINIMUM protecting Russia, either doesn't know the facts or is ignoring them. Trump is CLEARLY protecting Russia, and has been for years.
And, at this point, the evidence of wrongdoing has piled up so fast, so high, and so overwhelming that 5 Trump people - including very senior people - have pled out ... That said, whether Trump "collusion" can be proven is a totally different thing ... but then that's only 1 of 5 things Mueller is looking at. And none of that is currently the most dangerous legal threat to Trump ... the most dangerous is Stormy Daniels. Trump's organization is ensnared, his personal attorney can't answer "who he was" for his actions, and more women are coming out given there's a Stormy front. The Stormy Daniels case has the potential to cascade into a category 5 hurricane and will certainly take down Trump's attorney, and certainly damage Trump. Whether it takes him out of office is hard to say just yet, but the probability has gone from remote to possible. It looks like Stormy is going to continue, uh ... blowing. |

You're right in everything, I don't even know how I'd feel if stormy is the one who will take him down. That would be such an anticlimax

Why? Since GDP numbers started almost 100 years ago, USA has never gone through 3 Presidential Terms without Recession. As weak as Obama GDP growth was, no doubt 2017-2020 is due and thus a 1 term Presidency, no matter who was elected. Figured HRC for 1 term and then a real GOP Candidate for 2 Terms in 2021 was better than a 1 Term Trump and 2 Term Democratic future from 2017 to 2028. |

Welcome to the ssott (super secret off topic thread) newbie!
We talk shit here all the time, we seldom agree on anything, but we have laws that govern us all: 1. All football conversations are to be written in a form that makes Jets fans more miserable. 2. I am the highest authority in music since I'm the only one who has taste. 3. We argue in good spirits and we tend to keep the commenting we do here outside from the main forum. Just remember the rule one and two at least and you'll fit in fine. Oh, and we don't take life very seriously around here.

If look at the Pennsylvania Special Election, Republicans: * dumped in $12M, even including the NRC/NRCC which usually doesn't do that * Tried to run on tax cuts, had to pivot to cultural issues, had to pivot to "he hates America" * Still lost in a +20 district that hasn't been a risk in two decades

I was reading about the collapse of Rome last night since I was busy avoiding the house project again. It was funny to see how much of it I had forgotten. The whole nice arch from Romulus to Romulus Augustus (that's it in Finnish anyway), the combination of corruption, diseases, mass movements, crumbling infrastructure and led in the water killed an empire we still talk about way more than we talk about the British imperium or Russia. You brought up crashes and I honestly fear how USA can survive this, when you're basically facing the whole same load of shit as the Romans did.

Basically right now we're halfway through the 4th turning: crisis. It's just that the major focus of the crisis hasn't happened, like WWIII or whatever. But we're getting closer ... maybe world war with China, Russia and Iran? These cycles repeat back to at least 1588 (if you believe it):

Gg I'll comment in the morning, it's one am, so I have to actually work for a few hours because it has been so good for my projects to spend the last month and a half avoiding this damn house project and I've neglected just about everything else too to keep busy with avoiding. I do have a well fixed washing machine I threw away after fixing it and all laundry in the house is folded in perfection now.
If any of you needs tips on how not to avoid a family mutiny, I'm a good source for information. I just got an email from the hubby that I better have the kitchen designed by morning so I guess they're now enjoying my defeat.

7 hours later and I have the kitchen designed! Now an hour of sleep, then I have to do the most painful part of this house project: I have to figure out if I an do a full renovation project without a car, or has the damn hubby finally figured out a way to get me to buy one.

That's the pathetic part: Hubby suggested tracking it down and buying it back as my 35th birthday present last summer but i didn't want it after a man had driven it for a year and a half.
I knew it was going to be a disaster when I sold him but then I thought I'd have to do it since my life is more M3 than a four anyway. This is not our first rodeo on this topic. After I sold Ronald in 2007, I never replaced it until my middle life crisis with Peter. Then at some point he got sick of me, bought an Audi A4 for the simple reason of me being unable to love it so it could be replaced but then by a freakish chain of events he ended up buying a VW Passat and i named that one, and ten years later, Keiju Adolf Bastugatan is still with us, a miracle since to drive a mile, I usually spend a day or two under his hood. The first time I drove him, our eldest let the locked gate scratch the hood, and I thought it was the first pretty thing on the car so I refused to fix it. Five years ago, I taught my friends kids to drive with it so it's basically missing the only reason he bought it, the trunk since the lock stopped working but I refuse to fix it since it's hilarious... I can't replace all the memories so the car stays, though nobody drives it. Hubby doesn't drive at all so his only hope is to get me to buy one again. Now you might understand why we have the family rule about me naming stuff and why the spouse hated Peter from the second he saw him and why he begged me not to sell him when we moved.
