BimmerCode cheat sheet

Anyone know how I can obtain the cheat sheet for expert mode? Never used expert mode before is this straightforward to use or is there a big chance of bricking the car?

Thanks

There are some around on the net. I used expert mode to fine tune the ASD - keeping it activated but making volume minimum. Details are out there but not sure they are all in one place. That said, ASD is now coded fully off in mine as I got bored of it in the end. There isn’t much you’d want to do that BimmerCode doesn’t cater for ... what are you trying to code?

Wanted to see if I could code in the changes rather than using a coder. I will have a look at the above but looking at expert mode on BimmerCode appears to be really difficult and no idea what it all means lol.

It may look complicated, but it is very straight forward. Bear in mind that every time you use Bimmercode, it makes a backup so if you are not happy you can always restore the backup. I coded video in motion a few months ago and decided last week to reverse it by restoring from backup. So it's great in that respect, as you can access all the backups going back many months

Many modules are interchangeable so yes. It's not like the M4 has a different FEM unit.

I’ve tried this in the past on my M4 without success.

I’ll try again.

No mate. It's engine ECU.

You are quite right - I think you can on Bimmerlink. Need to get rid of active sound - is it better to unplug or code through bimmercode?

Easier way is to code it out with Bimmercode. I did this initially. When I fitted my additional amplifier I then unplugged the ASD module. It's a pain to get to just to unplug it if you're not doing anything else...

You are probably right although I was sure someone had an issue with the coding out. Need to put the BMC filters in shortly.

Thing is, with Bimmercode, it's so easy. You'll know straight away if it's worked, as once it's disabled, you'll be surprised just how much artificial sound was being pushed through your speakers.
I don't suppose you can beat actually unplugging the module though for true certainty it's disabled. Just be careful unplugging it if you don't have HK audio, as I think it causes issues with other sounds. ie. radio & chimes...

I have the HK audio but I think coding it out will be easier. Might practice some coding on my wifes 1 series before doing mine

Hi, would you kindly share the expert mode instructions (or link) for ASD? I would like to set it the opposite, to the max. Thank you!
