I track my cars. The GTS isn't remotely close to the GT4 in underpinnings, never mind the 3.8 vs. 3.4.

So much more in a GT4 which isn't seen on the surface.

Not for the GT4 but I'm looking at 991 C2S 7MT. I love my M3 but looking to split to more of a daily/weekend car situation.

Won't be disappointed. World class car. The NA version should command a nice premium too once they are turbos, but those cars will be out of this world good too.

I would love to get a GT4 (or GT3) to park next to the M4. Is the GT4 really limited to a few thousand cars? Anyone know what the production cap is?

That's better as you're forgoing initial steep depreciation. Unfortunately there is no appreciation for 911s unless you have a 993 or before air cooled versions in demand or the later GT versions (GT3 or GT3RS). Even the GTS depreciates quite a bit- see 997 version of it.

Motor Trends video review is out.

Randy went around Streets of Willow quicker than a 458, R8 V10+, C6 ZR1.

Wow! That is impressive. Especially when you consider it would be even faster with PDK. Porsche just keeps knocking these cars out of the park with ease. I truly do want to see a car where they leave nothing on the table...doubt it will ever happen but boy are they bringing it with the current line up.
I'm hearing word there might be a GT4 RS...

As for production numbers, I think they will continue to make the GT4 onward, so if you get on a relatively short list, you could probably get one eventually. The GT4RS seems like almost a sure thing from everything I've heard, so I feel the GT4 and GT4 RS will continue into future production years. Porsche knows what they have in their hands finally, and they will regularly produce more of the GT3's little brother, just in the typical limited quantities. You might have to avoid big dealers in the SF Bay and LA area (for example), and look to small to mid sized dealers, maybe even out of state. I got mine from a mid sized dealer and was surprised when I got there and they said only two people were ahead of me. First guy eventually dropped out due to the lack of bucket seats and went with a 458 Italia instead (not a bad second choice, lol!), and the second guy swapped allocations with me. Most just go to the big dealers and don't give the little guy a chance.

I drove mine back home from the dealer this past weekend, so put about 200 miles total.

Kind of at a loss of words right now, but can muster up some details. This is truly my dream car and am fortunate to have gotten one. Rowing through the gears on the GT4 reminds why I will never give up on manual cars, at least in 2 seater form. The gearbox, shifter, clutch all really are mechanically "chunky" in a good way, yet smooth as butter in their operation. You can tell Porsche made this manual tranny for car enthusiasts and gear-heads. I kept it under about 4K rpm, but you realize the potential it has and break-in can't come soon enough. I did a little canyon-carving, following my brother around in his 911, and found out that turns which I couldn't imagine taking in my previous car were just too easy for the GT4. It is very composed and confident on sharp bends. The sound is amazing and hearing it just behind your ears, with the PSE on, while going through the I95 Baltimore tunnel was orgasmic, lol! The reduced sound dampening is so appreciated!

MT reported some understeer in their video, but that's really common and also so people don't end up killing themselves on the street or track. Couple of things can be done to fix that, tire/wheel setup, camber adjustments, stiffen rear bar, etc.

The car gets a lot of attention obviously, like people taking cell phone pics. 911, Tesla, and even a Ferrari driver slowed down to check the car out, etc. A bunch of guys on their sport bikes gave me a thumbs up and so did a guy in his 997(?) Turbo. Yes, it garners a lot of respect from fellow car nuts, which is fine by me because I love talking about cars with my fellow car enthusiasts...doesn't matter which brand. Filling it up at the Sunoco was funny. Everybody trying to check it out, but people were respectful and kept their distance. It's probably the fixed wing, Sapphire Blue color, very low height, and the satin back wheels which have people thinking "exotic," or something.

I'm a big fan of BMW M cars, but if you can sacrifice the back seats, pay the extra $, and can actually find a GT4 or allocation, you will be very happy no doubt.

csbear, congrats! It's an all around fantastic automobile. It does draw the gearheads, last night a guy in a Mini Cooper was hanging out his window pumping his fist and screaming "yeah! yeah!" while going down the freeway at 70mph.

This car appeals to so many that have no vested interest in the 911 mythology, which is great since Porsche is more than just the 911.

Agree that the clutch and gearbox are sick, nearly perfect balance of mechanical effort and precision.

I have an RS allocation coming as well, and have to give one of them up.

Love the new car, but got in my F80 M3 today and damn it's just so good too for it's segment. More bit more blunt, muscular, versatile.

Appreciate your insight. I don't need a back seat and this is the Porsche that I have been wanting for years but current situation does not (yet) allow me to order (if I still can) one but I am keeping my eye out for a GT4RS. If Porsche decide to build one I am hoping thinking it will have at least 400 hp and probably 80 lbs lighter. The problem is the cost. Seeing the price difference between the GT3 and GT3RS is just out of this world. I understand there is a lot of race tech and exotic material but man that is a high price. Hoping the GT4RS would be reasonably priced.

Can you post some pictures of your GT4? By the way congrats on the car. I would've ordered a blue one as well.

Thanks consolidated and E92LNGCGY!

I have to take some proper pics (wish I had a real camera instead of my cell phone), but here is one when it was getting prepped at the dealers and another when the dealer was filling it up. I'll try to post some more later!

I can see why it gets a lot of attention. The color is beautiful plus the black wheels make it look purposeful.
Did you get the carbon seats? Can't really tell from the pic.

I wanted the lightweight bucket seats, but they were not available at the time due to limited supply.

That's OK... I was able to get my car earlier and the 18 way seats are very good themselves.
