I know two guys in town who bought an xDrive G80 when they first came out. Neither lasted a year with the car. One is back in an F80 and the other has an E92. Both claim to be much happier. The xDrive G80s are just stupid expensive too. No way I’m paying that much for a car unless I love it and have to have it. Nothing about not owning a G80 keeps me up at night. |

I ended up running against a G80 comp from a roll (I have a +4 psi boost tune) and was shocked how the G80 lost. I would assume we would be close but no. My tune brings my car to less HP than a G80 and it was as if I was a good 50 hp above him. I wonder if the weight of a G80 has something to do with it (i.e. power to weight ratio). I know from a dig things would be different but I expected better showing from the G80.

It's a shame like others we're just sitting out till 2028 and praying the design has us yearning to get another one. I'm even contemplating on getting either a G90 or F95 to try something new until then. |

I need to see an LCI in purple though, not sure I'd be able to walk away from one of those without at least trying to strike a deal. |

Getting into a current BMW just makes my eye roll. I know I won't use half of the stuff BMW shoved into it. I wish car companies just go back to basics.

Some photos from the Holy Church.
Last time I'd been there was in 2022 and I was very much pleasantly surprised to see new bits and sections. There's a new room for the Elvis 507, engines (M30, M52 and N52 in a row) and powertrains with interactive tablets, etc. The 3 Series lineage has been replaced by the 5 Series. New M GmbH section, too, but with the E46 CSL missing. Some stuff was still under construction. The Avus E36 M Clubsport was a fan's car, lovely to see the community there too. The M3 GTR from Need for Speed was unfortunately temporarily moved to the upper floor for the day. And a dirty Rubystone 992 Touring with three pedals. 10/10

I test drove the Cayman Style Edition yesterday, to see if the car is enough to pivot me towards it instead of the Miata 35th Anni.
No, it didn't. I can point out a few little things but I can see why people complain about the Turbo Flat 4. That engine doesn't sound good during idle or low RPM. The car is fine, there isn't anything wrong with it. Brakes are too soft. I don’t like it when I can’t get a good feel of when the brakes bites. The biggest problem is price. This car I drove is at basically $90k ($89k). The car is not worth $90k. If it was back down to the mid $70k range like before, it would be better. The Miata as the next addition is what I got from this. I wish the Cayman prices didn't jump so high.

Base Cayman/Boxster prices are just bonkers. $90k gets you into an xDrive M3/M4 which to me is worlds better regardless of how it looks.

The previous one yes, pre-LCI the one with the torque dip in the middle of the power band. It was okay but... honestly a little boy racy for me lol
I don't see myself in a GR86/BRZ. Don't know why tbh.

Yup.
A base Macan a few years ago was like, mid-60s for a okay specced one. It is now 70k average for a base Macan. If Porsche is wondering why their sales are suffering so hard all of a sudden, they have no where to look but at themselves. They need cars like the Macan. It is what keeps the lights on and what allows the GT division to do their stuff. Cayenne alone won’t do it. If dealerships don’t push back on some of Porsche’s dumber ideas, they will be in trouble in a few years. Edit: iuno why it won’t let me post the window sticker. But the MSRP is $89,610.

Sedan_Clan How are you liking the buckets in your 992 after having them awhile now? I’m on the fence about specing them in my gts…

I love them. Honestly, those seats, the added AeroKit wing, and the wheels were game changers for me. The seats single handedly changed the “feel” of the car in the most appreciable way. I would option them bro.
