I also brought additional detail to your summary before all the bench racers start chiming in . How much of that 0.9 seconds is attributable to the CP or to the DCT ?

M4 Coupe (DCT): 1:12.3 So the Competition Package managed to shave an additional .4 seconds off the lap compared to the non-CP DCT M4 I'll add this track time to the original post for reference. |

So there we have it, the first true CP vs non-CP lap time; and DCT vs 6MT for that matter .

Yes, it says the ZCP/DCT completed the lap in 1:11.9, followed by the non-ZCP DCT at 1:12.3 which was followed by the M2 at 1:12.5 then trailed by the M4/manual at 1:12.8. There was something about the C63 thrown in there and it posted a lap time of 1:12.6.

The difference between all cars is less than 1 second. I wouldn't even call that a bragging right lol.

As the saying goes all these cars are faster than probably any of us can drive. Just buy whichever suits your fancy you will never have track to DD on, so all this is moot. To me fast enough is all I ask and rarely worry about the stats by some other driver who isn't me. This is just one of the aspects to judge a car by. I'd buy any of them except the M2 which feels too small IMO. But given a choice among the rest I took home the one the least of the enthusiasts here would pick.
The more the choices the better cars we will have to pick from. Am all for the healthy competition.

It shouldn't really be that much of a shock when you consider the C63s makes around 470ish whp and the M4zcp around 430ish whp.

Based on the results, the m4 competition isn't appreciably faster in a straight line as you wouldn't think since the hp is minimal. I'd trade the hp for the 400 lbs or so the m4 weighs less. Not bad times overall for either car.

That tells the story there. The C63 is going to be quicker at the more high speed tracks. In this test, the M4 talents shine on the more technical and tighter track. C63 is going to need a track to stretch it's legs. A Motor Trend comparo will be interesting, what track will the choose to run the cars?

I think a bigger track like Big Willow or even Laguna Seca will favor the C63 S Coupe, and could further close the gap between it and the CP DCT M4. It's pretty darn impressive that the C63 S Coupe is as close as it is around the track compared to the CP DCT M4 - especially so when you factor in that the Coupe with it's new rear suspension, beefier wheels/tires, etc. is actually heavier than the C63 Sedan! US Spec curb weights: W205 C63 S Sedan: 3,935 lbs C205 C63 S Coupe: 4,096 lbs 161 lbs heavier than the sedan... the pig definitely has some tricks up its sleeve! Let's see some Nurburgring times the CP DCT M4... AMG has said that the C63 S Coupe is as fast as the last-gen C63 Black Series around the ring (7:46). |

Very crude google translate of the article... I think the vocabulary used by the writer did not go to well with the translation app as it does not recognise a lot of words, but it's better than nothing! Maybe our german speaking friends can do the translation for us ;-)

Drive both judge for yourself which works for you, not what some paid auto-journalist says. Your money, your preference is the only way to go.

I can't wait to see the comparo with these cars and the alfa. It is really a great time to be a car fanatic! Glad to see that some of the ZCP fans have a reason to gloat, all be it a very small one!
