You would maintain a PPF by wash/wax as normal. As for polishing, some of these films are "self healing" where sun or a heat gun will remove any micro abrasions.

no need to polish, the films today are self healing = no scratches and swirls

waxing as normal, but with synthetics only.

or coat it and be done

I bought one of these and was able to wrap my front bumper, mirrors, half hood for only $250. It took me 5 hours, and I didn’t have to do any cutting. Great piece of mind for cheap, and you really can’t tell it’s on unless you look very close. The install itself was pretty easy, just requires some patience and definitely use slip solution. It was my first time wrapping or install a clear film of any kind, and I have no bubbles either. 10/10 would do again. I also bought another piece to wrap my whole roof.

If you must have expel, they also sell precut laser pieces that install the same way.

In most cases, you'll get what you pay for. Focus on finding the most qualified installer to meet your wants and if a low price is most important, know that there are nuances (and sometimes much worse) that will suffer.

Different folks, different strokes for if someone should go as far as a full-wrap. But "Laura" is getting the full-monty including a full-body PPF wrap.

Hi all,

I know everyone is mentioning Xpel protection. The shop that does Xpel protection is kind of far from my house. I found another local shop that looks pretty legitimate and they look like they do a good job. Can you guys look through and see if this is equal to Xpel or would it be worth driving for Xpel?

I just bought a 2015 BMW m4.

Personally, Im not a fan of the 3m from an installer standpoint. However, it has an optional 5yr warranty against damage through the film. Ask your installer about that. That is the only reason why I would install that film.

Suntek
Stek
Xpel
3m

In that order

I was quoted $7250 for a full stealth wrap plus ceramic pro. I agree though. You get what you pay for.

I paid an extra $1,100 for the protective wrapping on my new car.
I pick up the car on Monday and I believe they will wrap just the front,
covering about a third of the hood or bonnet.

The choices were Tekwrap (sp.?) and 3M, which cost about $500 less.
I picked the Tekwrap because that is what they use on their demo/loaners.

I have not researched the pros and cons of the different materials and also versus no wrap.

I had my M4 wrapped in Llumar Platnium for $3700 for the entire car, would of been the same price for 3M or Suntek. Roof, quarter panel, door, rear trunk rear bumper...everything. The only thing I forgot to request for was the trim on the windows and a rock chipped it.

That seems like a really good deal. How was the quality of the wrap? Did they tuck all the edges?

It's really good. I wrote a review on it.

https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1616332

He doesn't dismantle cars so where edges can be tucked, they are tucked, but things like my front bumper and rear bumper, it ends where the lines meet.
