Final preps before going to the cage shop. Wire harnesses wrapped up, steering wheel and seat back in. It's important for the cage builder to know the height of the top holes in the seat so he can know how high to make the cross bar.
Off to the cage builder - 1 whole week ahead of the original schedule!

No, but I'm guessing it's still like 3000 lbs. (OEM exhaust)

Thanks we've been quite busy, and when I say we, I'm actually getting to do some hands on work in the cage build process myself.
Meet my nemesis, the spot weld driller. We are getting to become very familiar with each other. Using said spot weld driller, this is not even all of the metal we've liberated from the car so far to fit cage tubes in place

Somehow the driver's side mirror got damaged (we assume at the salvage yard or in the process of getting there. Luckily, I think we can just change the mirror glass and we'll have a usable mirror. Here's an exploded view. The side mirrors are heavy, but once you look inside, it would take a long time to maybe get a little weight out. Unfortunately, the mirror glass base is part of the 3 way motor assembly.

Thanks, that makes sense. I am seeing a possible issue with the springs on rear coils rubbing against the stock sway bar. Trying to do some research get the issue resolved. |
