DataDisplay AK-Motion (AWRON Alternative)
https://burkhart-engineering.com/en/...etition-kopie/
Anyone ever use this on a F8X? Now with the Awron discontinued, and also the dead pixel issue on those units. This looks like a promising alternative. More popular in the M2 crowds and i was wondering if anyone had installed one in a F8X? Looking for your thoughts and review. |

Disabling sound tuning will disable the pop and bang feature in sport / sport plus. All in all: I can highly recomment the AK Motion Display, as it is engineered by a german guy and provides frequent updates and also answers to user feedback. The installation is easy, has to be connected to the wiring harness in the passenger side footwell. Additionally, you can modify the layout on your own using a graphical editor. ![]() |

The section mentions the following functionality: Sound tuning off: F-series function. If the vehicle has "sound tuning" (sporty sound of the engine by popping / bubbling when accelerating, which is active in Sport + mode, for example), this function can be deactivated. |

And yes, it totally disables the pop & bang feature. Very nice, as here in Germany the regulations regarding the sound emissions of a car are very restrictive. By disabling the burbles, the car is a lot "quieter" during the test cycles, which may be done by the cops on the road...
Have a look at the following video of an aftermarket exhaust. There the feature is demonstrated: |

It's really interesting how they can disable burbles on the fly. Wonder which module it is messing with to do so. |

I'm really interested in this. That display looks great.

I guess the Display just makes use of that. Same for the Exhaustflaps. That should be the reason, why it cant turn burble on, if the DME dosnt have it from factory. |
