Sakhir Orange is available on every M car at the moment, as is Silverstone so I don't they're going anywhere for the moment. My guess would be that Austin Yellow and Yas Marina Blue are there as launch colors and will go away at some point.

I'm going to guess that Mineral White will be replaced in the F3x lineup and therefore be axed from the F8x (where x < 5) lineup as well. Someone else mentioned Mineral Gray - that's another possibility.
SO, SS, AY, YMB are probably all here for a while yet. |

I'm hoping YMB stays as it's still on my radar for ordering.. SS is an M staple that'll stay. I hope LBB and Donnington gray are added; more so DG.

f30 LCI apparently receiving steering upgrades, as well as LED lights, refreshed bumper and headlights and (highly speculative) touchscreen nav. Also some minor interior upgrades are expected.

There will be no nav changes... Nbt just came out and navi tech usually trickles down from the higher models... I think that pic shows him adjusting the vent

The only reason I think they might change the nav is that it is almost certain that 2016 models will incorporate CarPlay. Since they need to make some software and graphics changes to support that, and since a touchscreen interface makes a lot of sense with CarPlay, the nav system MIGHT see a model-wide, major overhaul.

To the OP
Good decision to retract the deposit. Your enjoying the car you have and can get the F80 later. Even if its before the LCI, you'll be getting it on your timetable. That said I would be surprised if the Comp pack comes so soon. LED taillights seem to be what most people are waiting for. |

Whether or not the LCI affects the M3 wouldn't be a deterrent for me to get one now and enjoy the heck out of it. You can't keep waiting for bigger and better things to come out. You will never get anything. iPhone 4S was better than 4, and 5 is better than both and 6 is the best. Can't wait forever, get it and enjoy it! Life will pass...
I got the 15 M4 in its first year of production. I got the 13 X5M in its last year of production. Could I have waited for the new body style and new gen X5M that's rolling out as 15 in the spring? Sure, but then I would've wasted not enjoying the lights out of it now for 2 years. My 2 cents. |

Do the 3/4 series LCI facelifts immediately come to M3/M4 ?
I haven't seen this posted specifically, but historically, when the 3/4 series has an LCI facelift, do the changes make it to the M versions at the exact same time or is there a one year lag before the M versions see the cosmetic updates?
Specifically, looks like LED tail lights? But I find it hard to believe there would be a cosmetic change one year after the M is released, but I know YOU all know better.. So edu-ma-cate me ! How have 3/4 series updates worked before ?

NVM.. I think Mkoesel answered it in the LCI thread:
"E90 M3 hit the scene as an MY2008 in late spring 2008, and the MY2009 E90 LCI came just a few months later in late summer 2008. F80 M3 hit the scene as an MY2015 in early summer 2014, but the MY2016 F30/F80 LCI won't be here until summer 2015. So yes, LCI comes second model year again, but the difference is the M3 hit early this model year - before the 3 did, even. So no one wanted to wait an entire year for some tail lights anyway. Now, for people planning to take delivery next year anyway - yes, they should take notice." Perhaps let me add something to my question: Have additional colors/new colors been offered with the LCI update on the Ms before or are the first colors pretty much the only ones with the exception of special edition vehicles?

Tailights and any cosmetic issues are absolutely minor details. If and I say if, there is an Idrive swap like there was from '08 to '09 it could spell disaster for first year models. The '08 is seen as an outcast mainly for that reason... at least in this case the Navi is outstanding but can only get better...

I thought there is a new idrive for the new 7 series? doesn't it take a year at least for the new idrive to trickle down to the rest of the model line?

I think the 7 series/iDrive update article stated that if it is updated, it will be rapidly incorporated into the entire line down to the 1 series.. I guess I just assumed what rapidly meant.

So does that mean the F82 could be running around with standard taillights while the F80 has LED taillights ?

There will always be some improvement or tweak or other reason to hold off until later, and I'd rather lock in a great deal now and a delivery date that will definitely work with my schedule, rather than some LED turn signals or hypothetical option package or color changes (I order almost no options and wanted AW anyway...) CAN'T WAIT to get my hands on the car |
