I’ve never had a built car engine before so I have a question.

How does one go about maintaining this type of engine? Shorter interval oil changes? What happens when you need work done to the engine? Very curious on what it’s like to live with a finely tuned machine like this.

Maintenance is pretty much the same. I have always done my oil changes around 3-5000 miles for every car depending on how i've been driving. For this car, i'll be doing it every 3000 miles unless i feel like i've been driving it hard. I do let the car warm up a bit more before i drive off.

If i need any work done to the engine, i go to Matt@Cedar-Performance in Dallas, TX. I haven't had any issues with my Carbahn built engine. They have their own solution to the crank hub issue and i've had absolutely zero issues. A built engine definitely helps the Kratos turbos but is not necessary as they've already been proven in another thread.

i am also interesting about what type of the engine rebuilt you have? i can't find too much info from their website. i am sure you do the rods and pistons with oem spec? did you do cylinder head? thanks, try to learn more from you as i want to do engine rebuilt too.

I have a Carbahn Autoworks Stage 2 S55 engine. You can find a lot of information on their website or give David a call. He will definitely be able to tell you more about it than me.

I'll have my 93OCT map soon and will post the dyno for that once i get it and have 60-130 times as well for both maps. I'm still adjusting to the car. It has way more power now compared to before and is no joke once the turbos start to spool

Kratos makes the best turbos hands down, highest quality and best of all their service is always very professional. It reflects who they are and that's important.

Having owned a performance shop before with a dyno cell, tuning cars, building engines and a successful racing program I know can be a very tough critic because I demanded the best.

When I begin my F80 project it will most certainly be with Kratos Turbos. These guys are the real deal.

Again congrats to everyone involved in this incredible build. And just pump e85 too? Can only imagine with some ignite e85.
Kratos makes a fantastic product combined with Halim's tuning, you can't go wrong. The dyno pull was on pump E85. I did put about 2 gallons of Ignite in it to see if it'd make a difference and it did some. There is definitely more power left on the table with proper fueling. However since it is my daily driver, i do not plan on running anything other than pump fuel as i already have to pump gas about every 2-3 days...depending how i drive. I'll be posting more videos and pictures on my IG @RNGUYENNNN now that i have the car back in my possession. It been a long ride to get to this point.
Do you plan to take your car to any 1/2 mile events or roll race events?

Please let us know how the car puts down the power once your tuned is dialed in. I'm sure it's spinning like crazy, would love to see videos of how this performs. Great car!!

I’ll be attending 1/2mi events when i can. The car should trap close to 180mph. I believe wannagofast stopped the 1/2mi event here in Dallas.

The car is already dialed in on my e85 kill map. It does spin through 3rd and a bit of 4th depending on tire temps, road conditions etc. I drive it around in the city in efficient/sport/sport MDM D1 on as my M1 mode and i have zero issues getting around. The car still drives pretty stock.

I’ve already gapped a performante multiple times in this mode on the highway slipping through third. That’s with me not even shifting myself and letting the kickdown do all the work. Once the turbos spool... the car just takes off. These Kratos turbos are a blast to say the least. I highly recommend them.

I'm running 295mm PS4S with a measly 400whp and still break free way too often even in hot temps. An extra 10mm won't help that beast.

Out of respect for OPs build, I'd rather not dilute this thread with something less intriguing. We can start a whole new thread about optimal traction configuration for F-series M cars if need be. Although, there should already be plenty of topics about what works and what doesn't shared by those who have been through the process many times.

I'll leave you with this information for you to pick up the rest of the pieces on your own. A 275mm width tire is more than capable of supporting 800+ whp given the right driver, fully configured wheels/tires/suspension, and properly calibrated engine tune.

I just got back from an 1100mi rally with a bunch of other cool cars. I posted a video on my IG of the car running on 93OCT. I believe the car made around 680whp on 93OCT with more left in it. Time was not on my side to fine tune the 93OCT map as i had to get ready for the rally. I made the switch back to E85 already as 93OCT feels like flashing back to stock...

60-130 times to come shortly. The car is running excellent and i've put over 4000miles on the turbos already with zero hiccups.

Awesome man, Kratos seems solid.
look forward to your 60-130 and 100-200km/h times

nearly 700whp on pump fuel is a joke..

Quick update for everyone asking for 60-130 times and pictures of the car. I did one pull yesterday at night in Mexico. I can definitely get to atleast 4.6 60-130 on the street and even better on a prepped track.

The car is still running great with me dailying it on E85/kill map.

My friend here in Sweden has his M4 prepared at Trollspeed tuning company at the moment so we are very curious about how this car will perform with your turbos. Engine and gearbox is soon getting built and we aim for 1000 hp.

Looking forward to that!

Whats up with that Dragy run? Shows you were going up the face of a cliff. I'd love to see a valid run, I'm sure it'd be smoking...

Right! Taking folks to Gapplebees for an extra large Gapperoni with cheese and a side of gapplesauce.

Mexico doesn't have satellites.

I'll have a valid one soon but it'll be done on the streets, not a prepped track. I was actually going uphill on that run as well. I'm sure I can shave some time off playing around with it more.

Dude, a 26% upward slope? Yeah, I'd say you were going uphill alright. 4.6 should be a piece of cake when you get to a 1 or less % slope for a valid dragy run. Not only that, your 60-70 was horrible. I take it you floored it right at 60 or were smoking the tires or both. Lol! I'm running stockers and my 60-70 is .67. When get you on a road with the correct slope and can figure out the entry speed/gear for when to floor it, I could see this in the very low 4s.

Incredible speed, very impressive, well done!

Start from a slower roll don't just stab the throttle at 60. Flatter slope. You'll be cooking!
