White exhaust smoke , need Info

Hi all ,

I'm from Belgium and I'm driving a 2016 M4.
I don't Daily this car only take it out on sunny days in the weekend.
I bought the car at 90k Km , BMW history all checked out (did have a Major accident tho
But was repaired at BMW).

There is a full Akra exhaust on It with downpipes and eventuri intake
Brought it to stage2 at 550 hp atm.
Car drives great pulls good no problems there.

When im flooring it i don't get any white smoke but when Im just rolling
The car out there is sometimes a big smoke cloud comming from thé exhaust
Also more times when comming to a stop.
I checked the turbo's when fitting thé downpipes there is no oil in thé turbine of the turbo
Im also getting a burned smell in the car After flooring it.

I checked the chargepipe and seems to be water/oil mixed in there can this Cause the exhaust to smoke ?
Ive read that An oil catchcan can fix the water/oil problem but i Wanne Know
If It can be related to the White smoke comming from thé exhaust?

Also thé valve cover is not leaking anywhere so i excluded that already
And then there is thé PCV valve how can i check if this can be the problem?

Car Is not in warranty so i don't wanne bring It to the dealer yet since they just gonna replace all Parts they think is thé problem gonna end up with a 6k Bill.

I Got a bridge I can use to do some stuff on my own aswell.

If Anyone has some tips for me that i can exclude some things or where i should start looking hit me up please

My insta is Marco_M4 if you Wanne check me out or see the car.

P.S I checked similar posts bit none match mine ... The oil level is not dropping and thé Coolant neither .

Thankyou for Reading and sorry for my bad English .

UPDATE FIXED!
So the car is fixed , we took the chargepipes of that is connected on the turbo and we checked thé turbine on axial play wich it did had like 4-+ mm play wich is not allowed on turbo's you Can't have any play on thé turbo's ... So both turbo's had this problem ... We replaced both turbo's and thé problem was fixed .

Define big smoke? Is it bluish in tint? If youre not losing any oil you should be ok but should be some seepage somewhere? Try a catch can maybe.

Mostly white with a very small bluish tint
Like thé size of the smoke is about 1/3 of the car in smoke maybe a Little less then that sometimes

Maybe leaking water in the charge air cooler?
White smoke is usually water were blue smoke is oil.

No, if it was water/coolant leaking in the top mount charge cooler, you'd need to replace the charge cooler. Check your coolant levels for the charge cooler system to easily check, if you're low on coolant it might be your issue.

Would like to know as well, I have the exact same smoke on heavy throttle and when coming to a stop. Smells burnt but white smoke.

I'm guessing it's leaking turbo seals.... since I have a csf cooler that isn't leaking I believe.

When you have blown turbos the smoke is white with a hint of blue and can be hard to tell unless it’s in the direct sunlight or using a bright flashlight. If it’s not blown turbos then it’s blown turbos seals. The smoke is from oil reaching your exhaust causing it to turn blue. I’m not sure if just coolant can cause this.

Considering that the smoke increases with acceleration it’s either the turbos or the seals allowing oil to pass which is why it gets much bigger as you drive. If you log and your boost is still normal then it’s the seals, if your not hitting your boost target the turbos are having issues, if you get no boost or Mac 3-5 psi, then a turbo (or turbos) are blown.

Could be a massively leaking top mount intercooler.

UPDATE: checked the PCV valve was fine .
There is more smoke comming out of thé exhaust and it's more Blue .
I called someone from BMW he prob thinks it's thé Pistons rings.. cause the car Is stage 2..

So i Will do a compressione test on the Pistons to test those of those come out fine the it's gotta be the turbo seals leaking it's thé last thing left ... I Just don't really Know how to test the turbo's on leakage? Cause we Cant reach thé front part ...

Its water in the exhaust getting burned away more than likely.

No i had a friend drive behind me he said it was Blue tint in it and smelled really bad burned aswell so.. im thinking either one of the turbo seals on the coldside Is leaking or the Piston Rings are leaking.
But i think it's thé turbo cause when Im on boost i barley have any smoke, but After i do a pull and I don't give any gas or come to stop and step on thé gas again i get a Blue smoke cloud behind me wich i think is caused by the turbo when it's not under pressure It leaks and thé when i step on thé gas again the oil Is getting trznsferred into the intercooler the in to the intake manifold It gets burned and thén it gets spit out the exhaust .
Didn't Got the time yet to take the turbo's off , maybe next week.
