CTek batt charger hardwire question

Searched through the various CTek threads on here but couldn't find any answers for this specific question. I want to hardwire the CTek accessory pigtail kit (pictured below) to the under-hood posts but need to know what size eyelet fits those posts. CTek seems to offer three sizes: 10, 8 and 6. Kit in the picture is an 8. Just to be clear, this is not for the battery posts in the trunk, it's for the jumper posts under the hood. Has anyone done this install or have knowledge of what ought to fit?

From the parts catalog, number 4 is the positive terminal under the hood that you would clamp onto for a jump start. No sizes are given, and it's a bit unclear to me where the eyelet actually goes in this assembly.

I've been thinking of doing something like this.

In this thread someone said they used the M8 one, not m10 or m6.
They also posted a pic of how they ran the wires.
You might be able to hit him up to confirm.

That's my post and I used the M8 eyelet. That size has worked on my wife's previous '11 335is Coupe, my '08 Z4 M Roadster, my '16 M4 and my wife's new '18 M3.

The negative connection point has to be removed with a large Torx bit (don't remember the size) and then reinstalled with the eyelet underneath. The eyelet for the positive connection point is done in a similar way, removing the nut and placing the eyelet underneath before reinstalling.

thanks for this quick response, I followed your link to the other thread but turns out that SD responded to this thread before I could read his earlier post. I'll let you know what happens with this, ordering the parts right now.

M8 washer under the eyelet ought to stabilize it and increase the contact surface. there's enough thread for it.

My Ctek came with an M6 eyelet connector so I modified it to fit. I used a step drill bit to open the positive eyelet hole just a bit more so that it fits the positive terminal snug, only needs to be done on the positive terminal as the M6 eyelet fits on the negative terminal.

Hello, trying to find the part numbers for parts 4 and 6.

Having real challenge with realoem site.

Anyone know what the part numbers are for parts 4 and 6?

Thank you.

Gents, i need little advice. I bought CTEK XS charger and i'm happy with having proper charger for Lithium battery

I'm planning to do:

> disconnect battery
> take off steering wheel for alcantara cover
> close the car (including trunk) since i park in shared garage in the apt building

Once i get my steering wheel back i can open the car with the key fob, open the hood and connect CTEK charger to marked spots as in the picture below.
Then am i gonna be able to open the trunk with the key to reconnect the battery? Is it safe to do that way?
