best option is Michelin mp4s for the street and RE71R for the track.
Cup2s arent a very good street tire and an they are an average track tire. they dont last long either and are very expensive |

I just bought a set of Pilot sport 4s for my M4CS on tirerack with the standard sizes - 255 35 19 in the front BMW spec and 285 30 10 in the rear BMW spec. Will the 265 35 19 front and 295 30 20 rear setup provide significant benefit to switchover or should I stay with the stock sizes? I daily drive this car with the occasional track day. I want to make the best long-term decision if possible |

I would also strongly consider the G8X star spec PS4S, in 275/35R19-285/30R20 sizes. Independent testing has show the G8X star spec PS4S to be far superior to the generic PS4S.

Did not think about this! This sounds promising, I wish I could see how this looks on stock suspension with the CS

Understood, but they are the PSC2, not the PS4S. Both are options for the G8X.

I don't mean to revive an old post but I was wondering if you had any suggestions/feedback for me? https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1926975 I wrote a lot on here but to revise I wanted to know how big of a tyre can I go on the 763m staggered setup and what the best tyre compound/brand would be for daily and regular spirited driving. I appreciate any advice in advanced!! |

Cup 2 connect (240) Star spec. The 285 is the same tire as on the new G8X and it puts power down quite nicely now that it's warmer.

The 265/35R19 star spec PSC2 connect is the rear tire for the M2cs, not a ideal tire to run up front. It would be preferable to run the 275/35R19 star spec front tire from the G8X to match that G8X spec rear PSC2.

Did the M3 CS come with PS4S from the factory then? Another user ran 275 Star Cup 2 but this setup rubs on the F8X chassis.

No F8X were ever fitted with PS4S from the factory. F8Xcs came with the older gen 180TW PSC2, exact same tires as the F82 GTS. The CS could be optionally fitted with PSS, but BMW was lazy with that option by simply speccing the 255/35R19 star spec PSS from the base F8X paired with the 285/30R20 star spec PSS from the competition package. This is a really suboptimal setup for the CS IMO. Quote:
As I posted several times, the G8X star spec tires, either in PS4S or PSC2 are probably the best setups for the F8Xcs. The OE tires on the F8X were its weakest point, the OE tires on the G8X are one of its strongest attributes.

- Lots of grip, goes where you want it to. Lots of steering information but tbh I care more that the front end goes where I point it over steering feel in this situation... regardless, both qualities are there. - Cup 2s like a bit of heat; no surprise with this one. They're still good "cold" but really like a lap or two to get grippy. - Overall, especially in the subpar conditions, I was more worried about maintaining traction in the rear over understeering. Had no notable understeer issues the entire day when on the Cup 2s. Once I get my camber plates on, I'll set more negative camber up front to further increase grip and combat uneven wear. One potential con: - This one is not necessarily exclusive to Cup2s but running a 275 in front will further amplify the CS's desire to follow the road surface. If you're not dialed in when driving, and the road surface changes direction your car will want to go that direction. It makes the steering and drive a much more lively experience. I personally don't think of this as a con, however, I can appreciate that some people may not like a car that you have to wrestle with from time to time.
