2016 LCI adaptive suspension changes

So I saw some part number changes to the module of the adaptive suspension, what is the implication of that change? Will the car be slightly different in its three settings?

I would not want to see this moved. The sub-forum seems to be mostly about mods (coil overs, lowering the car, etc.) which I am not interested in. I am interested in any differences between MY15 and MY16 cars.

Are you referring to the F80 or the F82? I can't imagine BMW would introduce suspension updates for the M4, although perhaps the M3 as part of the LCI.

But then again, they would have mentioned it in the press release. Gotta go with Railgun logic.

LCI usually implies significant cosmetic changes and often engine changes. Smaller changes in configuration can be introduced at any time.

However, in the case of the EDS module, I would tend to believe it is probably related to a hardware change of the control module only without necessarily implying a software change, hence no difference from a driving perspective.

I agree with you in principle but normally those "improvements" are to correct issues or bugs, and I have not seen anything reported although it could be an internal fix that most folks are not aware of...

OEM's often make small tweaks to shock tuning over a model's lifetime without advertising it. There were a lot of ride complaints from the initial press launch, it is very possible that the decision software was retuned slightly to address them.

If it is only a software change, would the PN of the module also change?

I figure any improvements to the EDC software could be done via a simple software update, no? 2015MY cars could benefit from the improvment by flashing the module.

I would guess it would since they would have to have unique modules for 2015 and 2016 now.

The 2015 adaptive suspension in sport+ mode is pretty kick ass now, if they improved on that with even faster processing times, that would be awesome, since I have an 2016 on order
