Spent Saturday at the Ring. Thanks to the info provided here, I was well prepared on paying for laps ahead of time via the Green Hell app and where to go. It all went to plan and it was an absolutely incredible experience. Better yet, it began cloudy but opened up to some beautiful weather. It will be something I remember forever.

Anyone know how to correct the angle of the photos being posted? They are upright on my PC when I load or open them.

Man, I've seen high banked race tracks but this is ridiculous!! You got to have REALLY sticky tires on this one.

Congrats! Just head south. Take any mountain road. Garmisch, Bad Tölz, stay at Kempinski Berchtesgaden - you will be excited! Run-in service should be done before 2,000 kilometers but your car should do at least 5,000 km or 3,000 miles before really hitting the red line. It's in the Instruction book. But hey, you can still do 95 miles/hour on the Autobahn before the run-in - for a limited time. Great color, my 2018 M3 is Maledives Blue - lowered with KW springs to work w the original dampers AND a set of 10 mm SSG spacers. For your inspiration only...

Cheers from Denmark

BMW has an European delivery program, where owners can fly down to Munich, pick up the car at their Welt. They offer 2 weeks of insurance with the program, and owners can drive anywhere in the European Union and drop off the car at 10 locations. They ship the car back to the US free of cost. It's part of the European delivery program offered to US and Canadian customers only.

Did that twice and it's one of the best experiences! Here is more info https://www.bmwusa.com/european-delivery.html

Yeah I plan on doing the service during my trip to make sure it's all done right and in the proper time frame. Sounds like the dealership in Stuttgart may be a good option and funny enough, should be right around the 1,200-1,300 mile mark!

Thank you - anticipation is palpable!
Congrats @Porsha! Enjoy the experience.

The first time I did European delivery experience, I did the same. Drove from Germany to Italy and then to Stuttgart. I hit 1200 miles and the BMW dealer in Stuttgart serviced it. They were super awesome. Then I opened up the car on the Autobahn to Nurburgring and did take the car on the track too.

Enjoy the experience!

It's killing me - not sure why it's doing that.

Man, I honestly had in that in my head the entire time. I didn't stop worrying until I saw it in person.

I still remember the excitement and anticipation of our first Euro Delivery for my wife's 2011 335is Coupe. This was followed in 2016 by my M4 and my wife's 2018 M3 last year and they were all as exciting as the first one! Her M3 is Individual San Marino Blue with Individual Polar Blue contrasting stitching.

Since you're doing ~1600 miles, have you planned on having the 1200 mile/2000 km service done while in Germany? In 2016 I had the service done at the BMW dealer in Stuttgart, who is an M-certified dealer. If you don't have it done in Europe, it should get done at the VDC before redelivery, but they overlooked this on my wife's M3 last year.

We did our drop-off at Charles De Gaulle airport outside Paris, and we estimated that we were only going to have about 1400 miles on the car so we didn't plan having it done in Europe and we would have been in France at the 1200 mile mark. The VDC overlooked the service during processing (I have a contact with the General Manager of the VDC in Oxnard and he confirmed this), so I had to take the car back to the dealer and have the 1200 mile service done by them.

Enjoy your trip! Have a beer at the Hofbräuhaus München for me, or really at any biergarten!

Remember you'll pay for the service at that time. Ours was done in Switzerland on the last M4. I had to guess where we would be at 1,200 miles... unbelievably we pulled into the dealership at 1,207. We ended up doing almost 3,000 miles in the car. Lol.

Anyway, to my point. KEEP the receipt (and back it up with a photo).

Turn receipt into your local dealer, BMWNA will send a check a few weeks later reimbursing you.

Ours was roughly$750 USD.

Love the color...congrats on the car and trip! I didn't get to do ED on my M4, but it was a blast on the 230i nonetheless! Glad you got to do the Ring and the Alps...they are non-negotiable musts for a proper ED trip!

As for the the no-exec pack...I don't have the whole pack either...though I do have the head-up display and I love it. Honestly, the adaptive lights are cool, but my take on all the LED lights (adaptive or not) is that they just aren't as good as the old xenons. I don't think the color on the LEDs (slightly bluer than the xenons) is as natural for the human eye. I also feel the xenons have a more even spread. I think my base non-adaptive LEDs may actually be a tad brighter from a sheer output perspective than the xenons, but they don't seem to light up the road as evenly. All this has me thinking I know why Porsche gives you two upgrade options from standard LEDs...adaptive xenon or adaptive LED.

Anyway, end exec-pack side bar. Enjoy the trip!

We'll be in Germany for 9 days and will be driving around 1,600 miles (according to how we've planned it so far). I'll be updating this thread with pics and details from the trip.
Nice spec mate. Added to my fav and looking forward to your update. Good luck and have fun, and stay safe.
