Contrary to what everyone assumes. These emblems are not LED. They are EL displays. Electroluminescent.
They put off zero heat and last a lifetime.
We have been selling these kits since 2016 without issues. Hundreds of thousands of miles on the emblems without a single hiccup.

Details of the kit, its a wiring harness.

DM us here or on IG to order
They do not last a lifetime. EL technology has been around for decades and whilst allows application where space is limited and even distribution of light they have a short half life and will loose brightness over time quicker than led and to start with not as bright. Hence why BMW added these into the emblems but power down. Less an issue with LED but is noticeable on EL as have had dials made of this in another car and have lost 20% brightness in 6 odd years. Note the material is also organic and will deteriorate over time as well. Hence not something you should have on all the time but won’t maybe notice in the first few yrs.

We have been selling and installing these kits for 10 years now, since the F8X inception.
There is absolutely zero degradation in life span.
Thousands of kits,
Hundreds of vehicles that have had them installed for over 100k miles.
Never an issue.
Zero.
With or without our kit installed the emblem will last long after the rest of the vehicle does.

So to say the life span is shortened or the brightness degrades is absolutely misinformation as we speak from ACTUAL REAL WORLD experience.
They haven’t degraded in 1 year, 2, 3 or 10.

I don’t think it’s misinformation as this is actual physics here that I was stating of the material which does have a half-life greater than LEDs which is factually correct and documented. In terms of years and 100k most customers would not notice as they don’t hold onto cars that long and would state if you left these permanently on for 10yrs and took a brand new one out of the box it would be brighter due to the half life value. Everything degrades over time but I understand you sell these and don’t want my comments to put people off but sometimes it’s nice for people to understand the technology and how it works too.
