How so? Can I keep the damaged MPE?

From what I see in the pictures, it is safe to keep the MPE and take the money of new one.
Depends on how you deal with the body shop because insurance company will only send check to body shop. Or you don't want to mess with the body shop. Tell them to keep the damaged MPE and swap it back later after the repair. Then sell the new MPE here or there.

I just reread the pictures, it looks like the cat and the X pipe of MPE are both damaged but not the muffler. So, I guess the body shop won't replace the whole MPE.

They are replacing the whole MPE. If anything I'm going to see if I can keep the old damaged MPE and sell it for dirt cheap. Id want a completely damage free MPE on my car for the next owner.

Good thing you stoped right away, saved you more headache.
Same thing happened to a guy on F90 M5, hit a branch, didn't stop right away.... engine seized up. Total damage $56K insurance also paid for everything but it's inconvenience dough

The location of the oil cooler was my biggest worry on my M4. Installing one of those protector shields seems like a good idea for peace of mind.

Yup. Supposedly the tabs on the headlights broke.

Damn. Tweaked the whole front end then. Makes the oil cooler "vulnerability" a moot point really. Glad you're ok man. Might want to push for a total loss.

Agreed, tracking a new German street car is expensive. Time for an old, modified, track only race car, buddy |

UPDATE 12/19
Well, it's been a long month and a half, but I finally got my F80 back! The grand total was $35,000 compared to the initial $28,000. I haven't completely gone over the invoice because honestly it's pages and pages long and I'm just glad to have it back. Apparently something to do with the Air Conditioning. Maybe the condenser? No pic but some bad news: Just after 2 days of driving I hit one of those truck tire treads on the freeway as I was changing lanes. It was laying almost flat on top of the lane button reflectors, so it was hard to spot. It made some black marks on the new front bumper and side skirt. FML I guess I just can't catch a brake. I think it might just rub off though.

1- Correct 2- Correct 3- Correct not only was it explained correctly to you, your examples above are all correct as well. An airborne item striking your vehicle is handled as comprehensive. Running over /into/onto an object that is stationary or on the ground is collision. Striking an animal is considered comprehensive - regardless of the status of the animal (alive or dead, moving or not) . |

That is one of the reasons why I have told my wife and daughter to "hit the deer". Do not try to avoid it, run in the ditch, hit a tree, and possibly hurt/kill yourself in the process of getting into a collision with a stationary object. HIT THE DEER

Last year I swerved to aviod an idiot who was speeding in a parkade and was on my lane. Ended up scraping the side of the rear passenger door to the back of my SUV. My first at fault accident in 31 years. With the effect it’s had on my insurance, there isn’t a week that goes by where I wish I hadn’t just stayed inn my lane and let him hit me head on. The SOB also drove off to add to my anger.
