Best dual duty M4 build?

I have an e30 M3 track car that will most likely be retired one day now that I have an M4 I could make dual duty.

My question is what daily creature comforts have you removed to make a dual duty car? I'm thinking rear half cage, seats that allow 3 point for daily but also allow 6 points to be clipped in for track days.

Tires/brakes/camber etc can be dialed before going to the track so these things will be interchangeable.

Removing weight?

In my case it's
-brakes update (M-Performance pads, fluid and brakelines)
-suspension: KW Clubsport 3 way
-half cage, removed rear seats (not that much of a difference regarding weight...)
-Recaro PP (that measure makes you save many kilogramms as the stock seats are really heavy, i have both safety belts, stock and 4 points Schroth)
-lighter forged wheels with semi slicks (only on track)

I think the car can still be used as DD,the only issue i have to deal with is the lowering, i can't use my parking lot at work any more... Despite seats and wheels it's difficult to lose more weight...

Will you keep the E30? It'd be an unforgivable sin to sell it....

Definitely keeping the E30. I've had 6 of them and will never ever sell this one. Having a 2.7l 300hp S14 built for it this winter.

I added the Fall Line steel mono-balls and rear end bushings, Dinan toe link and rear suspension link kit, JRZ RS Pro Suspension, GTD1, MSI Racing 80mm, Rennline tow, and the AP Pro 5000R F/T 378/365mm. I must admit, even at her softest suspension settings she's already firm. Just FYI, my JRZ RS Pro is for sale.

Dual Duty M4

Everyone who sees the car doesn't believe its actually very drivable on the street. My 22 year old son, the driver, and I just drove the car nearly 100 miles on I55 to Gateway International in St Louis, did four 30 minute sessions, after one warm up session we ran the last three sessions as hard as it would run. No heating issues, no problems at all. We then drove 100 miles home. Not a single issue. Can't wait to do it again!
We sourced parts from BMW, Fall Line, Dinan, a couple of German shops and also we did some of our own fabrication.
Admittedly, this car isn't a daily driver but it also doesn't need a trailer to get the track. I would be happy to provide a full list of modifications and sources but that will have to be another post.

Rear seat eliminator from Fall Line. We also have a M4 GTS and the Fall Line cage is far better than the BMW part. Much better triangulation and mounting points.

I realize you're possibly asking about the exhaust and diffuser. It's an Eisenmann system we cut apart and reconfigured to allow center exit. We were looking for all the diffuser area possible.

Track whip looks sharp! I love what you've done to the Eisenman.

Awesome set up! May I ask why you're selling the JRZ's?

Nothing wrong w/ it but I just would like to try a 3-way set up. I'm motivated to sell, so make an offer. Thanks.

My build:

JRZ RS Pro with swift springs
Numerous SPL components
StudioRSR half cage
Recaro Pole Positions
Schroth 6 points
CSF race heat exchanger and DCT cooler
AP / Essex brake setup with 1.11 pads
Apex EC-7 wheels with NT01
Full Akrapovic exhaust with downpipes
BM3 flash tune
GTS gearbox flash
RKP GTS replica wing and lip spoiler
APR dive planes

It's definitely loud and makes a lot of racket while driving around on the street, but worth it for the performance aspect. I try to drive the car to the office at least once a week.

What a great build! Like the combo of the Essex brakes with JRZ’s with EC7 wheels with Akrapovic

Thanks again for rocking our product!

OP: We have done a limited release of our E30 cage. We worked with Kyza for the initial one, revealing it at Sema this year. If you aren't familiar with his work, his IG is The_Kyza. Only 5 will be made

Our F82 Tesseract cage is one of our most popular sellers. It allows you to still run your factory back seats or you can run our rear seat delete. So as far as dual purpose goes the choice is up to you.
