Should the driver be in the car at the time of calibration or not?

Interestingly the procedure recommended re-calibration anytime the DSC or VDC module is reprogrammed (which I did not originally do when coding in the ZCP stuff).

The computer was definitely able to detect my presence in the car because the post calibration results were: 0m^2 on the right and 0.018m^2 on the left.

Edit: vertical acceleration sensors not ride height sensors were re-calibrated.
Acceleration sensors cannot detect static ride height. Only motion. For calibrating accelerometers, the most important thing is that the car is still (that means no bouncing around in the driver's seat).

These cars have ride height sensors too, for headlight aiming. They are probably being used for suspension control as well. For that, we typically calibrate them with no passenger load, but I don't know how BMW does things.

Uncalibrated sensors will definitely throw off the ride/handling of an EDC car.

Hey Guys, I'm trying to have my car updated as I have a very old version of the software (early MY16). My main reason for updated is the damn pogo stick feeling when I use Sport, and Sport + in D1 or 2 on the DCT. It's absolutely annoying, and I have driven my friends ZCP MY17 here and Houston that has been recently updated and it doesn't do this. It feels like a completely different car, a much better car.

Needless to say my Dealership will not help me out in any way shape or form. What are my options?

Thanks in advance.

Pay dealer or third party to update. Update yourself.

You need a FSC code from BMW. Supposedly you can get one, but it's expensive if they even allow it.

Hi all. I have a jan 16 build F82 DCT stock.

I have just had my ECU updated from july 16 to nov 17 helped by amaretto. I'm finding the ASD to be very quiet. to the point where I'm not sure it is even on.

I have played with different settings and can barely discern any differences between settings.

My car sound too quiet and wrong. smoother, more progressive power delivery, better car? but lost character to my taste... still bunny-hops rarely but much better.

Before the FW update, The best setting for my car to be as loudest possible was;
engine S55B30, audio level tophifi, powerclass OL, Comp pack YES,country var ECE, construction stage 07/15 and gear shift YES.

can someone please help with their current best setting for loud ASD, particularly with power class.

thanks

: that just proves the flashing placebo syndrome ... you update the transmission, suddenly ASD is gone.

It is possible with the DME update, that the valves behave differently, I've been driving a bit with windows down to hear any difference.
I am looking to get a few BMW coded and found DDCoding a few times, has anyone had experience before contacting him?

I was looking at his instagram and posts, he seems to code the cool features everyone wants but also does the software updates, I read you should connect a battery but it is obvious that he never does this and from his instagram he has seem to done a ton without an issue.

All feedback is "it feels and sounds amazing THANK YOU!"

What is everyone's thought?

Am i possible to code this better exhaust sound into my car ?

Sorry for my bad english, i dont unterstand everything what is written in this thread.
If it is possible is it only this one entry "Competition package" set to YES ?

Hey guys.
Yesterday I was tryin to flash the GTS DCT Software on my M3F80.
I cannot really say if it worked or not. But it was funny. I added the 4S91 to my FA for the M4GTS and coded my car. After that my car thought it'd be a coupé . So that wasn't the right way. Afterwards it was clear to me that that couldn't even be the right way.
So now I want to flash a single SWFL with the M4 GTS transmission software. Can somebody tell me how I can do a single SWFL flash? I think I need to calculate a TAL for it, but I'm not sure.
Also I've found a strange FA Line I want to try:

S9MRA Special model M3 GTS

Hope somebody can help me out

Coding is different than programming. Make sure you did not write FA changes to VCM.

Coding changes setting within software.

Programming pushes different firmware. The M4 GTS flash usually involves BTLD & SWFL.

Hey thank you for your quick response!
You are the guy I was looking for.
What do you think about the FA-Line I've posted?
There never was a GTS Version of the M3 F80, but this Line exists. Why?
So you think I should change FA to GTS then save it and load it for the TAL calculation, after that I can save the SVT for the GTS ?
Strange thing is I can't find a EGS ECU in SVT-list. Is that normal?

Thanks!

You mean these?

I know the procedure, but not sure you are referring the same thing.

It is not normal for car to be missing transmission.

Flashing non ZCP DME with CP flash

Hi, has anyone tried to flash a Competition (ZCP) software inot a non-ZCP f82?

Esys shows that the only difference is the one (blue-red) SWFL file. Has anyone tried? I do not want to get the ecu "locked" somehow. I have not found any "how-to" for the Comp Package or GTS flashing for the DME unit.

Yes, someone tried. The flash will work but you will not have any boost because you don't have the correct FSC code. It won't be locked or anything, and you can flash back to non-ZCP.

Better to get tune. Not possible to get FSC code or something for GTS software.
Tune can be also done remotely.

Thanks
