Glad we were able to get these so quickly and on the car, enjoy them and be safe at the track

If anyone is looking for a kit on that note, we have a few left

Everything sounds great with these but definitely lots of wheel gap, not liking that. Maybe it's the angles or some spacers are needed.

I'll be getting an alignment soon and will be tracking the car a bunch in July, so I'll be able to give more impressions as we get deeper into next month, but so far so good. Still feels great, very satisfied, I do notice the higher spring rate in the rear but I still find the ride to be compliant. Long story short, still loving it!

Yea I agree ... but like I said in first post, if you are looking for a dumped/stanced, look this is not the way to go. I DD and track the car so I need something less aggressive from a looks point of view. I have much beefier tires waiting to go on the car as well 265/295 so hopefully that will help fill it out a little better. I didn't want to throw spacers on until I knew how those tires would fit. All that being said, the rear can be lowered much more for someone who did want to eliminate the gap back there. The front ... it's almost at it's lowest setting soooo not sure how much more you can get outa that. The suspension, at least to my eye, has not "settled" which I guess was to be expected given the high spring rates.

Thanks everyone for reading ... hopefully this info is helpful.

With the high quality Ohlins dampers, the 1300 lb spring will be just a little bit firmer than stock.

The location of the spring is one of the reasons for such high spring rates. Many days of street, track and 7 post shaker rig testing verified this is what works on the R&T.

Keep up updated on your DD impressions too, as this is what interests me the most.

Also, so far, how would you compare it to the OEM passive, in more specific, precise terms? Say, if the OEM is a 5/10, are the Ohlins a 6/10, or a 9/10? In terms of comfort, handling, etc. Thanks!

Just out of curiosity (and I know I should search for this), what were the E9X R/T rear spring rates?

Mr. Tofu, the kit looks great.

Pre-alignment questions:
How is the brake dive with these coilovers? My main contention with the stock suspension is that is has way too much brake dive... my M235i has no brake dive at all despite it not being a "proper M-car".

You say the suspension is a bit more harsh, which is expected in performance-oriented suspensions like these. I am fine with this personally. In theory, road bumps should be more uncomfortable, but at the same time they should be less unsettling because the car's secondary body motions post-bump are greatly reduced, i.e. the car settles faster. Have you found this to be the case?

OHlins R&T will provide much needed rebound damping that is lacking with the OEM dampers.

They are adjustable! Just not too low according to the OP.. which if I were to guess is due to the monotube shock design.

Right around 10-20mm, maybe just a bit more. These aren't meant to slam your car into the weeds type of coilovers.

Ohlins had these months ago, but they landed without springs therefore the slight delay in shipping until now.

In terms of DD impressions, they still feel great. In terms of comfort I find them just as comfortable, as I said in the original post, ride is more firm but less "floaty" which I find to be a better thing. Handling ... for me I'd give it a 9/10. Way less body roll, more planted feel, I don't drive like a maniac so I haven't pushed it super hard yet but as I said I'll definitely be updating with my track impressions.

Yes, absolutely. No discernible brake dive at all. I'm with you, I enjoy a firm ride. As I mentioned in my original post I found the suspension to be less floaty, and I think that's what i used to describe what you mentioned as "less unsettling".
