NJ Window Tinting
Picking up my new M4 next week and looking for some recommendation's on places to get my windows tinted.
I live in Jersey City and work in the Parsippany area so prefer something in North Jersey. Also this will be my first car with tints what do you guys recommend % level in NJ as I am looking to avoid being harassed Thanks guys |

I've used 2 that are pretty good. The tint shop- Edison They did my 2016 AW 328 with black leather and I went with 20s. Looked amazing and I never got pulled over for tints while I had the car for almost 3 years. They used madico tint film. Paid $220 Winning window tints- Elizabeth They did my 18' AW/SO M3. I went with 35% because I wanted something a little lighter and it came out perfect. You can still tell it's tinted...but for example when walking towards the car you can still see inside. Some people like that, some people want more privacy so it's up to you. Forgot the name of the brand they used but it was a ceramic tint film. They also offer standard tint films. Paid $320 or $350 don't remember. In both cases I went will all four door windows and the back windshield. NJ cops don't really care unless you're near the shore area they are more strict sometimes |

Tropic in union is another great spot.
somewhere between 20% and 35% I think makes sense. I've actually never had a problem and i typically can get away with getting a tint ticket over a speeding ticket if i get pulled over. You will 99.9% not get harassed unless you get pulled over for something else

Top of the Line Tint on 46E in Lodi has done my F80 and a few coworkers cars. work is clean, owner is the installer, and price was reasonable. I didn't go with the crystalline/ceramic line, but not the lowest line either. Film was 3M - holding up very well at 3 years now.
One thing to consider - if you want to preserve R-L Visibility while also darkening the interior for safety/aesthetics, consider going with a lighter tint on the sides and a darker film on the rear. I went 50% front, 20% (I believe it was 20, may be 30) on the rear. My car windows look way darker from the outside than from the inside largely due to the darker rear window. Good luck!

+1 tropic tints in union. Gonna run u like $200 but they are trust worthy and tint way more expensive cars than the m4. I went 5% tints
Con is they are usually super busy bc they also tint commercial buildings so u need to set up an appointment at least a week in advance Last edited by ad4m; 12-14-2018 at 09:23 PM.. |

tropic tint is the best in the business, you pay a little more than some shops but the quality is far better than all. never had a bubble or had to take a care back in 10+ years and get atleast 4-5 cars done a year
