I actually went back to my Pre LCI lights from the Bayoptiks FOLED. Fitment was ok but the lighting was a really bright deep red. I just didn't think the design fit the F80.

The F82 lights don't have this issue. The earlier batches of the F80 lights had this problem. Thanks.

Abdul
So the F80 OLED's no longer have this issue of it being super dim in direct sunlight?

Anyone have the issue where the turn signals will work for the first few blinks and then get the error malfunction light? Sometimes on the left, sometimes right, sometimes both? BTW, this is a pre-lci F80

Would like to know if there is a solution, kind of tiring having that pop up all the time over the last week and a half and not having proper rear turn signals.

Input, advice would be super appreciated.

I had this too on the right side (passenger) tails on my pre-LCI F32. I noticed that this happens with humid weather only and not all the time. Sometimes, I'd switch off the car and turn it back on the error would go away and the tails would work fine. Nonetheless, I wrote to VLAND from whom I got the lights through Amazon and they sent me an outer light replacement. I haven't installed it yet.

Yeah, if I turn off the car and back on again, the error goes away until the next time I use the signals.

Did you write to VLAND directly? Or did you go through Amazon to get the outers? Might have to do the same.

Vland was the "seller" on Amazon, so I just contacted Vland through "contact seller".

If the light still functions properly, you should be able to fix this random error notification with coding. Even though my car is a LCI (which came with LED tails from the factory), I still got an occasional tail light lamp error. To prevent errors for all BMW models, pre-LCI and LCI, VLAND adds resistors to make the car’s bulb voltage check circuit think everything is OK. Unfortunately, the resistors they use are not the best quality, thus they send an erroneous voltage signal to the bulb voltage check circuit occasionally, and the car thinks you have a bulb issue.

I coded my tails to LED using BimmerCode. Even though my car came with LED tails from the factory, some of the bulb parameters were not coded to LED. I coded everything to LED and no longer had any random tail light malfunction errors. I posted it somewhere in this thread, but I am too lazy to go find it…

I think I just found your post, haha. Will try the coding sometime this week or next once I get the time!

The issue was the turn signals being dim in direct sunlight. The brake lights are pretty bright.

For me, it wasn't just the error on the dash and Drive re the turn signal malfuction. When that was happening the turn signal would flash faster that usual and there would be either half or not at all turn signal blinking in the back.

Rectangle marked spot shall be also giving light when brake pedal is pushed, isn't it? It seems like I'm missing some wire connection. Can it cause the lighting error Im getting?

Same thing happened to me but only on the passenger side. There is a 2pin harness (2 wires) that connects to the outer tail light. Mine disconnected, plugged it back in and it's working fine. I didn't have any errors just noticed it wasn't working.
