Helmet For Beginner
Hey all,
Will be attending track for the very first time and looking to buy a budget SA 2020 helmet around $200. I've narrowed my selection down to the Zamp RZ 56 and the Zamp RZ 59. I think the only difference is the latter has front vents. I'd like to ask for those who have experience wearing helmets with front vents, how much better are they at bringing in air? I live in Los Angeles so it's fairly hot (90F+ in the summer) so looking to see if it's more gimmicky than functional. Pics below of the two helmets. RZ 56 RZ 59 |

The vents will help a tiny bit
Whatever you buy, make sure you wear it at least half an hour in the store or at home before you commit to it. |

I don't think vents matter a lot in a closed car. However I rarely run full visor down either. Fwiw ac doesn't really impact these cars much I just.leave it on. I'd buy more based on what fits better.

Did you end up buying the helmet? I am searching for a y helmet under $500. I was thinking of going HJC.. I have had good luck with those in the motorcycle world.

I went with a G-Force off Amazon, they still sell for less than $500. I return the first one for a different size. It's been fine for the last 6 years.
