It is so smooth, precise and surprisingly quick. The car really begs to be driven hard.

I always enjoy listening to music when I drive but the music only plays in the R8 if I'm stopped at a light.

2017 + can be had for 20-30k off msrp (new). I don't know about the 2018... but I recommend buying used with 1 or 2 years left with a warranty.

There's a lot of videos on youtube about the car... but like anything, you have to drive it to really appreciate it.
Thanks for the input. Sadly a gen2 won't do it for me. If going into an awd German car it's gotta be a six speed, not available on the Gen 2's. If a gen2 were comfortably in my budget I would likely end up spending the coin on something a little older and a bit more Italian.

I love the gen 2, but something about the design just doesn't get me going like the gen 1's do. In this hobby, irrationality is the name of the game, isn't it?

Yeah another vote for a MT R8 V10. If I was fortunate enough to get one, I'd do it in a heartbeat. It's worth buying it for the sound alone.

Hehe I know where you're coming from. There are great options for exhausts as well so I look forward to seeing vids from you.

R8 of course. My hope is to get 911 some time soon while kids are small and can fit in the back seats. R8 is a two seater unfortunately
