Time to sell my organs for a muffler.
Do you still have the valves set to fully open all the time or did you try OEM valve settings? If fully open, you're going to get drone no matter what. A different muffler isn't going to get rid of the drone if the valves are set fully open with this mid-pipe.

Yep, no drone in OEM valve mode.

I don't rememeber the single midpipe ever droning with the valves fully open, so I was hoping I could open them up with this pipe, too. But no big loss. Just need a muffler that sounds good with OEM valve settings.

I am finally picking up my car tomorrow (I had a lot of work done, more than just the new Dinan axleback + AA EL) so I will take a ton of videos and let you all know my thoughts. Can't wait...like a kid on Christmas

Not today. I've been hemorrhaging cash on car parts lately.

To anyone that's curious how a stock exhaust w/ non res midpipe setup sounds like at WOT down a straight. I forgot to mention in my last post that I have the CG PRECISION VSC-2 (thanks Mike @ x-ph) valve controller set to open.

Getting mine installed on Thursday. Can't wait!
Probably going to set exhaust flap settings back to factory per the recommendations here.

That's what I did on my M2C. WOT sounds even better in person than the videos. (Well, all in person are better). I have found that Sport+ is my go-to for normal driving, for some reason better in that 3K lazy acceleration spot. And quite the pop upshifting under WOT.

do you also have a bootmod3 installed? My vsc-2 stopped working after installing bootmod3. bm3 is set so it opens the valves after i turn it to sport mode so i guess i dont need it but it was nice that the car used to open valves as soon as i start the car.

preordered my aa el res mid pipes from x-ph....very excited and checking everyday to see if its shipped out

Nope engine is all stock. I coded out the burbles and have auto rev matching in Sport+ (I'm a weakling in heel & toe) which was all done on a BPM Sport tune.
You ordered the res mid pipes yes? If that's so you might want to pair it with a catless downpipe because the sound might be too muted for you.

Did you disable active sound and the stock burbles? Might end up doing that as well.

Yes. Bypass harness for no ASD and BimmerLink for no burbles. Best combo thus far for me.

Too long for where you cut it? Or does it actually go past the weld/bend on the muffler inlet?

Non-res.

The resonators mute that brassy G35 trombone shit that you hear in the video.

I made a thread about this specific equal-length exhaust system. I realized many of you really only check up on this thread for anything equal-length related. Here is the thread and a video of how the actual exhaust system sounds. https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums//s....php?t=1819578

To be honest, the S55 in this video sounds like a single turbo N54.

Honestly it sounds like a chainsaw, needs 78 resonators

I hate it when people do "exhaust videos" by doing anything BUT an exhaust video
