I loved it on the e92 and love it on the f8x. If they had SS2 on the lot when I purchased with my options, then that would have been my choice.

They are both great colors. It's a light or dark decision, SS pops brighter, MG a bit more sinister.

Silverstone. Mineral gray has been around for a long time. Silverstone is fresh and new.

I've had both back to back....had a 335 in MG which I loved and couldn't decide what color I wanted in the M3. Went with Silverstone and as others say it is an amazing color. Someone in my parking lot near work has a MG M3 and although beautiful it is a very common color on 320s, 328s and 335s. I would go with SS if I had to do it again, I get complimented all the time. Can't go wrong with either though.

Different color palette, one is very dark the other is very light. The F8x has very and many aggressive body lines that are accentuated by lighter paint colors. If I had to do it over again....SS>MW>YMB before going darker. My .02

Like others have said, depends on if you want a light or dark color car.

Silverstone shows off the lines better, but I'm not a fan of the light blue tint it has, a little too pretty. But the carbon fiber contrast will be much better if that is important to you.

I got Mineral Grey, and it is much more difficult to maintain than the silver cars I've had. But I wanted a darker color that still shows the lines of the car, hence MG. It is true, there are a lot of 3 series in MG, so if you want to stand out, this is def not the color to get. If you want a more aggressive look, go MG.

Silver. I agree that MG is too common but then again I love gray car color.s The only reason I did not consider it for my m3 was that I just sold my 10 year old 3er which was gray, needed a diff color

And on the E39 M5 1999 (in Europe) - 2001. For MY 2002-2003 it was replaced with Bluewater. Still a great color though.

Did you make a choice?

Unless you signed an agreement that clearly states no deposit refund, they can't keep your deposit.

While you are correct, it is still an M exclusive color. What is the ratio of M cars to regular series? To further dilute, what is the ratio of M cars that are Silverstone to other colors? While SS has been around for a while it is still a much more rare color on the street.

Silverstone looks really hot with the Carbon Fiber roof, 18 inch wheels and the blue brake calipers.

If you don't wash your car every week, go SSII. Both are great colors. I think Cohiba Full would look good as well as SO for the interior.
