I am not sure magnetic force is strong enough to hold contaminants when oil pump is pumping the oil from the sump at 58psi. In the worst case, it could generate an unnecessary sweep of metals into an oil pickup (which the net/filter will catch most of the time).
I suppose it could be beneficial before changing the oil when it is drained to the sump... but an oil change will take care of suspended metals in the oil regardless.

I cut my filter open every change. Yall would be surprised how much metal I find in it.
Blackstone says wear levels are fine but its quite a fee metal specks. |
