MP HAS from getbmwparts.com & Dealer Install - Issues?

For those of you who ordered the MP HAS from getbmwparts.com and who also had the kit installed at a BMW dealership - did any of you have any issues with the following:

1) dealership claiming that certain necessary parts were not included;

2) dealership claiming they might not honor the warranty if the MP HAS was purchased from a third party vendor, i.e., other than the dealership (even though the dealership would be asked by, and paid by, the customer to have it installed);

3) any other issues that might not have occurred if the MP HAS had instead been purchased from the dealership; or

4) no issues whatsoever - saved money by ordering from getbmwparts.com and at the same time experienced no downsides in terms of warranty or otherwise by doing so.

Thanks,

Thanks,
Just curious, but did you bump into any of those issues? #1 above can happen if you don't get the optional hardware kit, but #2 and #3 shouldn't be issues at all since getbmwparts IS a BMW dealership (BMW of Silver Spring). If your dealer gave you a hard time about buying OEM parts from a different dealer, that's kinda crap.

Thanks,
Did you order the additional parts? There's an option for some extra pieces on getbmwparts, the dealership should be able to get these parts easy but it may take a bit longer to install it or may charge you for them.

Getbmwparts is BMW of Silver Springs, it will not void warranty.

No issues whatsoever, loving IT!

That's funny. If I remember right, the additional hardware is pretty much the same as what you have on the original suspension. They just want you to buy the extra hardware just in case there's too much wear on the original hardware or if somehow you misplace it during the swap. Like Tom said BMW will warranty the part but not necessarily the dealership

#1 and 4

The optional part kit came to be because of issues I had with the dealership attempting to do the install.

Based on the replies above (thanks everyone) looks like ordering the hardware kit is a must (at least if you want to guarantee that the install gets done the first time around)!

I'd recommend a slightly different approach that worked well for me - get the parts department of the dealership you want to do the install to price match parts. I pulled together a simple Excel sheet that had BMW part #s, qty, price to be matched and a link to the online price and shared that via my SA. I found all the part #s on here (I believe they're all in the MPHas main thread) and the parts department double-checked them for me to boot!

A bit unrelated to the original thread topic, but what have the BMW dealers charged folks for the install of MP HAS?

I'm having mine installed by local dealer (Baron Automotive) next Monday. I will report back.

So Baron BMW (Kansas City) agreed to install them, but they offered the absolutely hilarious price of $2,200. Said the job called for 14 hours of labor.

Fortunately, the Director followed up with me the next day and made it right and they are doing the install today for me (while matching a far lower quote). Seems they've had some issues on the Service side but are looking to correct them which is why he was brought in. Hoping he stays with them for the long term as he was very pleasant and knowledgeable.

Might be a little late, but my BMW service center matches price to online retailers like GetBMWParts.com. Ask about price matching at your local service center. It's worth a try.

My local quoted me $1,750 for the install. I brought it to another local, respected tuner that was able to complete for much cheaper.
