Not sure how you can call this a troll post when PTF is acknowledging that this really happened.

Did this ever get resolved? That rental car has to be getting expensive. Record for the most anyone has paid for an F8x tune

Would have been great if OP closed the loop. On a side note, those TI tips are in the worst condition I have ever seen!

Having the audacity to complain about the messianic BM3/associate. Poor guy got called a troll and liar and everything in between by the usual offenders. |

PTF has responded to my requests within the hour typically, and I'm generally pretty needy. I find this post to be trollish.
PTF and BM3 FTW. |

Maybe I jumped to conclusions with the "troll" post but I disagree (my personal opinion) with the methods and then lack of follow up |

I think the central issue here is not ptf itself but their dealer network. I personally had issues with a local shop that works with ptf when I was trying to get my previous m4 back to stock. After a lot of stress and added expensive it was put back to stock. I think ptf may need to develop a stronger dealer network.
Just being clear I think ptf itself is top notch. The entire experience with my m4 has made me unwilling to put any type of flash tune on my m3 at this point

When it comes to most things, a product is only as good as the people that represents it. PTF is good, shown that they care but of a installer is doing a crappy job then that is sort of on PTF also.
Hope OP got whatever he had sorted out but do wish BP would stop mob mentality so much.

Even PTF said they missed the email so why are we questioning OP?
Its unfortunate that he chose a new shop but hopefully it's been resolved.

I'd say it was just a series of unfortunate events that aligned together at the worst time. OP took his car to a newbie shop who should've had a charger on the battery. The shop didn't know how to escalate their ticket. They could've called, or maybe they did. PTF had their busiest weekend because of their OBD unlock beta release. They got flooded with hundreds of tickets and emails. What probably irks the bm3 fans here is because this thread was really unnecessary, especially with its title because there's a lot of competition going on between tuners right now. Having a thread made by a completely new person that doesn't accurately reflect who PTF is really hurts their reputation on a basis of one unfortunate incident during the worst time possible with an experienced tuner. |
