Looking at an M3, what should I know?

Just wondering if there is anything that I should be looking out for or anything you guys can tell me. I am specifically looking for one with a DCT so both me and my fiancee can drive (she's not comfortable with a manual).

I am selling my 2011 Evo X with 450whp and looking at a F80 M3. We just bought her a X5 35i and we love it.

Any insight or knowledge you can provide is greatly appreciated.

Look for a CPO car. Lower the miles the better. Competition package would be a plus. The executive package is a MUST bc of the HUD!

Great cars overall, incredible balance of comfort and sport. Has been a very reliable platform so far, but I would ensure quality service records including regular oil changes and run in service completed at 1200 miles.

Generally speaking these cars are turning out to be pretty durable. As others have said, try to find a CPO'd car with low or, ideally, very low mileage so that it will not have suffered too much from BMW-free-no-maintenance. Be prepared to travel to find a car like that. And read this forum A LOT. Good luck, and post us some pics when you finally get one.

The comfort is a big plus, that is the main reason for getting rid of the Evo. Any clue on what these put down to the wheels from the factory? I know it most likely won't have the same kind of pull but they style is much more mature. Anything that needs to be address right away or are they good to go out of the box?

I came from an Evo 9 and am in the process of getting into a F80 6mt. They're about 425 at the wheels stock and all you need is tune and dp to hit about 500. I plan to add e85 and midpipes as well.

I agree that zcp and zec are key packages and CPO is nice if you can find one.
