8 month check-in, this car is amazing. Fell in love with it during my test drive, and even more in love with it now with all of its unique qualities over other cars, it tends to be a topic of conversation at car meets and cars/coffee when people look at the carbon bits, the wheels, and the interior door panels and rarely another CS at the meets vs a plethora of 911's, ferarris' etc etc...

This probably isn't CS related but does anyone use the M view in the HUD? Once I click it on it works fine but when I turn the car off and restart it it's back to default. I don't see a way of saving this setting. Sorry if this is a noob question. Only had the car a few weeks.

I love my M4 CS but to be honest I kind of regret that I did not take M3 CS before lease was gone last year. The lack of left elbow support on door panel is the biggest problem for any drive more than 1 hour. Once I had driven probably 600 miles during 4 days and my left shoulder was killing me.

The difference between the CS and GTS is quite significant, mostly in the suspension where the GTS gets a manually adjustable "coilover" system. Further, the GTS gets more weight reduction and more aero.

I actually prefer the Normal HUD view for the DD. I rarely get close to redline on the DD, so I don't need the tacho nor the gear ratio. I find all of the other info displayed on the normal view, such as Nav, Audio, Phone, to be much more useful on the DD.

If you have it in D, why do you need the ///M view in the HUD ?

I don't "need" it I was just wondering why it didn't stick. And in the future I might "want" it always on. Plus it looks pretty

If we wanted we could do a rear seat delete and put a roll bar in, change to KW Clubsport which is what the GTS uses, add the aero bits in for track, then is it basically the same car other than power and special water injection tune? |

One positive that CS cars don't have Comfort Access. That and the Huge weight savings.

The GTS is noticeably 'racier' and to me was less enjoyable to drive on normal roads(kind of expected though, right?) - What I mean its suspension was very stiff for rough city roads, had the stupid(IMO) roll-cage in the back, seemed like it had more of an exaggerated overrun burble compared to a normal M4(this could have been in my head?), and had a very low front lip(at the time I wasn't aware it was adjustable). But man was it a stunning white/orange exterior combo that got more attention than any car I've driven besides bright colored exotics. People on the interstate would honk, and give thumbs up. At gas stations/parking lots people would always think the car was built (probably the wing) because most people don't know what a GTS is. I wish I had been able to take it to the track because that's where it would have shined. On the street the increase in power wasn't really noticeable/usable, and the aspects of the car that make it suited for the track took away the street livability IMO. |

11,000 miles now and a little over a year.
I have always enjoyed the car with the suspension on comfort mode thinking it was the best for my ride quality preferences. But for the past week, I've been enjoying the car with the suspension on Sport + and finding the ride although very tightly wound, is still impressive when you hit a bump. The suspension is still resilient and absorbs the impact without crashing over bumps. I actually prefer the suspension in Sport + now because it reminds me a lot of how my E90 M3 rode and reminds me of how E36's rode. Give it a shot, it may feel stiffer than comfort/sport modes initially but if you seperate the tightly wound feel from how it absorbs impacts, BMW did a great job on the M4cs's EDC tuning.
