I am squarely in the MOAR POWER (and traction) camp still I have deposits in place for 981.2 gt4 and tesla 3 but both lack straight line punch so I'm not sure I will do it. I tried my brother's 981 gt4 and the "feel" was great and it was fun to track but I am not a fan the highway acceleration not being enough to get away from a camaro ss. Maybe i am still too juvenile but if I'm in a 2 seats pure sports car I want to be able to make everything short of a 1000cc race replica bike disappear when i hit the gas My next car will likely be a used heavily modded c6 or c7 z06. F all the excuses about image and interior... I want 130+ 1/4 mile trap speeds and 'murica has that locked down! |

Yea, the my CA at Porsche is awesome and I got close to 13% off MSRP as the new 718 Caymans will be arriving soon. My M3 stickered for $79k and this one stickered for $67k. So the lower MSRP combined with the large discounted selling price my payment is over $100 less per month compared to the F80.

Okay, M3/4 drivers, what's your NEXT car gonna be?
For those of you are like me who are already looking ahead, what's gonna replace your M3/4? I like to look far ahead, and I'm not quite sure yet. I'm thinking GT4 or something similar, maybe even a used 997TT, but I'm going to miss that daily driver capability. Thoughts?

Just got my M4 last year, plan to keep it for 7 years with an extended warranty, so it's way to early to even speculate. If I had to speculate, I would guess that it would either be a gas/electric hybrid, or possibly all electric.
The automotive industry is quickly moving in that direction and autonomous cars are right around the corner (10-15 years possibly).

Thinking of replacing my 2015 m3 with a 2018 m3/4. But I am getting the itch for a gt350 but the problem is I need a usable back seat. Have a 14 yr old and 3 yr old, sat in a mustang and quickly realized how tight it is with the seat positioned to how I would drive it. Hard to beat the duality of my m3 after considering my family. I'm sure I will come up with an answer in the next few months after further research and thinking!

And, oh yes, I will keep at least one EV in my garage from now on, though it probably wont be a BMW the next time around. Model 3/S is way more likely. a

either a 2018 F80 or a 911 Carrera S.....depends on what my wifes next car is and if I can get away with a 911 (if she gets an X5 or something I can use to haul sh*t around on the weekends).
One of the main sticking points of the F80 for me is the HUD. The 911 doesnt have one, and I dont know if I can justify purchasing a car without one...it is a total game changer.

Depends on whether the replacement serves DD duty.
If so, then likely some other manual transmission performance sedan (which may not exist when the time comes). If not, then a two door manual sports car (which may also be a rarity by then). |

My lease isn't up for another 15 mos. I was starting to consider buying the car at the end of the lease until it got rear-ended a couple of weeks ago. Minor damage but if it shows up on CarFax chances of buy out are nil.
I'm thinking about a convertible next time. M4 or C63S. If not a convertible I'll check out C63S, RS5, Giulia, or maybe CPO 911S. Maybe Macan but I'm not an SUV guy. I like to lease so probably another M4 (convertible or coupe) since the others I listed suck to lease so I'd probably feel compelled to buy if I went with something else.

I lie awake at night worried about the future of the human race....but more so the future of the manual transmission, especially in a 4 door.

I also just got my F80 last year. Due to my job function, I have to have a 4-doors (for boss/client needs). If I have to choose a replacement car, I would think another manual high performance sedan as well. If BMW is going to discontinue MT, I may keep my F80 for a little longer.

I had a F80 M3, I went into a M5, and now I will either get into a X5M, GLE63, E63S, or the new M5 depending on when mine gets transferred lol; I would love to have a Porsche GT4 or GT3, though.

What's the human race ever done for the universe besides chuck a bunch of garbage into space and shit all over the one rock it gave us? On the other hand, I guess we did invent the manual transmission. |

A Hyundai. I'm looking forward to what Manfred Fitzgerald (formerly director of brand and design at Lamborghini), Luc Donckerwolke (formerly head of design at Bentley), and the man who started it all, Albert Biermann can do with the Genesis brand.
In my opinion, M division has lost it's way and I'm eager to try a different car. |
