This is a really cool thread.

Is there any way to see how many cars were built with your certain combination of options? Obviously some will be 1 of 1, but for others, I am still curious.

For example, I feel like ZCP/Comp pack in combination with carbonstructure cloth seats is really rare. I can obviously figure out how many cars were comp, how many were cloth, etc. But, I can't figure out how many had comp/cloth/6MT combo. Maybe I missed it. Any help is appreciated.

Nice little summary. This confirmed what I always thought, which is the E9x M3 wasn't a big hit. But then again, it followed up on the E46 and came out during the great recession.

Guess that makes my 2016 F80 Dakar M3 6-speed pretty rare....not as rare as my NSX but still pretty good stats

Super cool - I've had this car for new since 2016 and never knew about this till today!

I have a 2016 6-speed Dakar M3 and confirmed my VIN number matches:

8M93: USA/Canada

(so the 3 is changed to a "C" in my VIN)


This makes mine 1/6 cars in the USA if reading it correctly. I wonder how many were actually 6-speed cars.

I guess I feel pretty cool with mine then. It’s a comp/cloth/6MT in YMB. The way I would’ve optioned it from factory if I could. (I bought used)

I would love to know the rarity of stuff such as Carbon Ceramics and CarPlay and LKA and Blindspot detection Etc. If OP doesn’t have the time but can send the data I would be more then willing to figure it out and post.

Yes, I would like to see the F82 numbers as well. Selling my '15 soon.

Hello friends, I would like to see if anyone can help me? I have a 2016 f80 with an M performance steering wheel, I had an accident with water and the v2 control module was damaged, I bought another one with the original part number and it didn't work! I have had reports that the module must be purchased together with the steering wheel..... has anyone had a similar problem and had to replace this module?

No. BMW blocked access to the database that SickFinga used to gather production data for specific models. BMW blocked access before the EOP of the F82/F83.

Hello, I hate to bring up such an old thread but I've been racking my head trying to figure out what the production numbers are of my spec.

I see 3C93 to 8M92, but I don't have a VIN like that. Mine is 8M9C (assuming I'm reading this correctly).

I have a 2016 M3, Tanz Blue, with an Individual tag on the inside hood.

Based on the bottom part of the registry data, am I seeing it's a 1 of 4? Or am I stupid?

Any explanation as if I'm a toddle would be greatly appreciated!

Tanzanite Blue was a priority one individual paint color. In the summary table below, for priority one Tanzanite Blue there were 43 non-LCI and 443 LCI F80’s produced. The additional 4 Tanzanite Blue in the larger Individual Color summary was for 8M91 LCI RoW LHD (non-US) which suggests the Tanzanite Blue was dropped from the priority one individual paints for that market.

If your car is a US spec car then it’s either one of 43 if it’s a non-LCI car or one of 443 if it’s a LCI car.
