I spray leather cleaner/conditioner on a towel and then wipe it on it. I don't spray directly.
https://www.amazon.com/Chemical-Guys...omotive&sr=1-6 I am lazy so I only do it in 1 step.

Use Colourlock leather cleaner with their leather brush. It does an incredible job and you won't lose the color. It comes in mild or strong, which have a different PH levels. If your wheel is really shiny use strong. I always use strong and have had zero issues. There are plenty of videos on the internet on how to use it.

I've always used meguiars 3 in 1 leather cleaner/conditioner and spray it on a microfiber towel and gently rub it on the wheel. Never had any issues so far.

When I really feel like cleaning my interior I always use chemical guys leather cleaner and
- Spray a tiny bit (like a quarter pull of trigger) of it onto a part the steering wheel - Spray some onto a boar's hair brush as well - Lightly work it into the part of the wheel I'm working on until it gets foamy. - After whole steering wheel is done I wipe it down with a microfiber towel And if I have extra time I also put on their leather conditioner with a microfiber applicator. Then wipe that off with a microfiber towel and call it done. |

My go to for steering wheel is a damp microfiber and a spray or two of Griots leather cleaner. If you do it frequently, you’re good. |

Alcantara wheel here but do the same for leather.
What you need: Container of very hot (as hot as it will come out of the tap - 140F for me) water with a few drops of Woolite or other gentle detergent. 1. Dip microfiber towel in the water and thoroughly wring it out (use gloves so you don't scald yourself). Should be barely damp but very hot. 2. Clean a short section of wheel by grasping the wheel and gently rotating/twisting hands. Re-dip towel as soon as it is no longer steaming/hot. 3. Repeat until done. For alcantara, this will return the pile/nap to the fibers and clean them. For leather, it will remove the "sheen" that results from dirt/grime/oils polishing the urethane coating on the wheel. So you'll have a nice, matte leather wheel or a well-piled, clean Alcantara wheel. If you have a steam machine, you can replicate these results without scalding your hands, but it's the same principle. |
