I get why BMW is doing these collabs, but how can the target market afford this car anyways, let alone a standard brand new G20/G22?

I'm sure a small minority of the hype beasts are kids straight out of college at some wall st analyst program. Not too hard to afford a g8x that way (is it a wise decision? prob not). Otherwise mommy and daddy $$$.
All his collabs are made in low quantities anyways, so it's all sold out regardless. |

I grew up and live in West LA. Private high school parking lots around here are filled with G Wagons and Bentaygas, so a $900-1000 BMW lease isn't that far fetched. This is also probably the hq of the "hype beast" movement, sure I'll be seeing plenty of these

How many of these will hit the reseller market like the rest of the streetwear brands? I'm sure there's plenty of people that are reserving this in hopes of a value increase.

Ah it all makes sense now. Why they have those crazy non sensical trailers with guys screaming and cameras rotating...and now this. It actually says “collab” on the marketing material. It’s for the young kids with daddy’s money!
But come on, BMW cannot be that daft. They must’ve done millions in market research to come to this point right? The younger market only leasing these cars for a couple of years and then leasing whatever is hottest after. BMW is a company who grew due to enthusiasts and now is forgetting their core group and chasing the money. I get it, companies like BMW are not a charity and need to make bank, but I never thought they’d sell out like this. They need to look at Porsche for inspiration on how to make bank. I still love my F80. |

I agree - seems superficial. It is not the car or experience they are selling but perception. The dangers from that is vying for click bait and losing popularity to next thing. All YouTube influencers will move to the next thing that will get them the higher views. You lose the connectivity.
