Moved on to a 2019 Corvette Stingray

Thanks to all of you for all the info shared over several years, we have great folks who have helped me time and again with my numerous questions. I traded in my 18M3 CP MT for a 19 2LT 7MT Corvette Stingray past weekend.

The M3 was great but not as fun like the stingray, the V8 sound and the driving dynamics of a sports car bowled me over and its my 1st sports car. Surely i will miss the 4 doors but have an Acura TL to serve that purpose. Honestly the M3 CP did not impress me much over the 16 non ZCP M3 i owned for 2 1/2 yrs, i liked that car better in terms of rawness and comfort. The suspension in the M3 ZCP was quite harsh even in comfort mode and it amazes me how much smoother suspension the stingray has although being a sports car. Lets hope i love this new beast and maybe some day will be back to a BMW, who knows

Here's some pics

Have fun folks

Kidding. Congrats on the Vette. Totally different class and feel. Nice color combo. Should come back here and post a review

Congrats on the Corvette! Personally, it would take a Z06 for me to even consider an F80 to C7 trade.

I went the other way. 2016 Z51 to a 2017 Z06. Then a 2015 M4. Enjoyed the corvettes but was looking for something different. Really like the M4 but we'll see after a year or so especially with the C8 coming out.

Congrats on the Vette! Beautiful car. Needed 4 doors myself so got into a non- ZCP 2018. I can certainly relate as the suspension is plenty stiff on the base car. Enjoy!

Vette is such great bang for the buck but unfortunately for me, it will always be the solo driver, gold chain image it has.

Congrats!

C7 is faster than F80 and Z06 is plenty fast so no comparison

make sure to grow that mullet out and wear some jean shorts to the meets

can't go wrong with an LS motor + tremec gearbox.

I am pretty damn happy still with my m3 even with a 911. Its been rewarding to drive and I've had it for 4.5 years. Congrats with the vette, but I don't share the diss on the M3.

Agreed, it has long been the best value dollar for dollar from a performance standpoint but I could never bring myself to buy one. I don't care how well it performs or how awesome it sounds.

I love the Vette and agree it is a performance bargain, but I wish Chevy would update their switchgear. Everytime I sit in a new Chevy it reminds me of my 90s S10/Beretta.

Congrats on the car, but I also disagree with your M3 ZCP suspension thoughts.

ok but i hated the over stiff suspension on the M3 ZCP which i found uncomfortable for daily driving , there is practically no difference between comfort and sports mode. Handles great no doubt but i liked the non-ZCP suspension and seats better.

As usual its a bmw egoistic comment, even i used to think like you that i cant drive a vette or an american car till the time i drove one and got bowled with it. Its definitely more value for money and infact cheaper than the M. So far love it in all ways.

I thought the opposite. I had a 15 M4 with adaptive suspension and felt it was stiff across the board. Now with my 18 ZCP there isn't a ton of difference, but I do feel a difference. Also it rides so much better than than the 15 IMO. I also have 19s and not the 20s so I don't know if that makes a difference or not.

I will say the mag ride in my GT350 was amazing and I do miss it from time to time. If your Vette is optioned with that, I can see why you feel the way you do.

I loved the drive of my GT350 and it was the most fun car I've ever owned to drive. Hopefully you don't have the build quality and reliability issues like I did with 2 of them. I'm not saying BMW is the bastion of reliability, but I've been lucky with all of mine. And when I did have an issue it was taken care of promptly with a nice loaner provided to drive. Again, hopefully you don't have to deal with that crap because I've heard from SS/ZL1 owners that Chevy is more of a pain in the ass than Ford to deal with. Granted it is anecdotal, but I would start researching/getting know a good dealer service department just in case.

yes i have MRC suspension

I heard about service issues but so far dealership experience has been great from sales point of view.
