New F82 Owner M Heritage Edition in Imola Red: Must-Have-Mods?
Closed on my dream car last week, before they could even detail it and I can't wait to start the build... 2020 F82 Heritage Edition in Imola Red - 6MT
I have a few initial ideas for mods, but would love to hear some suggestions for their must-haves or the first thing they did with the car. I do like to keep things OEM where possible. The performance mods I have planned are minimal right now, need to do more research. Planned Exterior Mods OEM CS Style Carbon Fiber Rear Spoiler OEM CS Style Carbon Fiber Splitter Side Skirt Extensions (still haven't decided on which ones I like...) Diffuser (again still haven't quite decided but thinking maybe Vorsteinner or Kohlenstoff with the LED) Paint Matched Reflectors Planned Interior Mods OEM M Pedal Set OEM Alcantara Armrest/Parking Brake Boot(long shot but anyone ever seen the M Heritage carbon weave replicated?) Shift Knob w/ Alcantara Boot (looking at IND as the OEM is weird and has silver???) Planned Performance Mods Intake... (Eventuri most likely) Suspension (MPE? H&R? Schnell? Looking through the thread that exists right now) Exhaust (sorting through endless videos of different exhausts and thread) Yes, I am actively looking through all old posts... but if anyone wants to call something out would be sweet, i'm beyond excited for this car I want it to be perfect. Congratulations and welcome! All hail 6MT and Imola Red.
You should first spend a lot of time driving your car in various ways before buying any performance modifications. Learn the car, find out any likes/dislikes based on your driving style, usage and preferences. To be completely honest with you, the absolutely last thing this car needs is an aftermarket intake and more power (especially from Noelle...). Encourage you to go out in Sport+ with DSC off, come back, and tell me you need more power. Quote:
My first "mod" was coding off the awful ASD, the fake interior engine noise.

Oh god whatever you do please do not go with Noelle that company is a bunch of frauds. There's a few threads on their shady business practices and their completely worthless warranty. Save that ridiculous money they charge for a tune you're literally not allowed to validate the performance figures on or else it voids your warranty and instead use that money on a set of icon LED headlights!
Beautiful car btw and congrats! |

Appreciate the help and the guidance away from Noelle, was discussing the tune with a local group and they swore by it but I didn't do too much research into it.

I thought the headlights were LED? Maybe i'm mistaken or the ones you called out are different than the OEM? I do like the RPK side skirts I saw them on IND, subtle but some nice aggression. |

I probably should've been more clear that's my fault. The ones you have are the standard LED projector headlights that come standard in all 2018+ cars but there's also the full LED adaptive icon headlights that are a factory upgrade over the ones you have. They really complement the front end of these cars

Congrats on your new M!
I just realized heritage edition don't have executive package. I would definitely add the LCI headlights to your mod list. As for your wheels they don't seem to be factory finish. Unless someone tells me that's also because it's heritage edition? |

Do the OEM ones resell? $5K for some new headlights on a new car.... thanks BMW. The wheels are factory finish 666 Style in Orbit Grey, not sure if they offered that as an option with the Competition upgrade but they are on the Heritage. And yes, once this baby comes in for detail, ceramic, PPF, and tint then we will get some nice shots. |

Slow down on the mods.... think about the purpose of each mod and if it's really going to improve the car.
Some people just seem to mod for the sake of it. Why do you immediately think you need to replace the suspension? You sure you need more power from a tune already? You planning drag races? IMO going overboard with the CF aero stuff can look tacky. CS lip + M perf spoiler, and maybe a CF diffuser, is perfection. Skirts... eh I think they're too much, I was considering them myself for a while and decided against it. Just realised when I stood outside and look at the car... it looked good, and it didn't need them. Heritage editions are going to be rare and look stunning with the little touches they have. I would have loved a red one. Would suck to see one ruined with too many poorly chosen mods. Just enjoy the car, it's a stunning one, drive it and have fun |

I agree with the others, the icon headlights are definitely a must have. Apart from the mods you mentioned I’d look into a GTS hood. It has slightly different lines from the regular one and makes it so much more agressive. The OEM is a bit on the expensive side but there are a few brands out there that make good replicas.
For the skirts I went with the 3D Design carbon ones. The quality and fitment is top notch plus with the other carbon mods you’re planning i think it’ll complement the lower lines of your car well. |

To each their own but I would never look at a BMW with OEM pieces and call it tacky. IMO the car looks terrible/unbalanced with no side skirt extensions but a front lip, diffuser, spoiler upgrades. |

All OEM everything. I figure if BMW wanted me to have CF side skirts, BMW woulda made them.
I think ur mod choices are dope. I also agree with the other posters, spend some time with the car as is, before you make ur mod choices. Walking away from her a few dozen times really helps you choose what you’d like her to look like. I see a lot of reselling on here because the seller “wanted to go in a different direction”. To me, that says (mostly) they were premature in their original choice. All that said. Big congratulations!! Do want makes you happy. YOLO. |
