This. You're overthinking it. Just return the lease and don't say anything. They're not going to plug in a scanner. They're just going to do a walk around, check odometer, have you sign off on a couple forms and off you go.

Yep. Years ago I traded in one of my (non-BMW) cars with forged pistons installed. She was a hint louder at startup when the temps were very low but otherwise... someone is driving around a motor that'll handle quite a bit of abuse.

I'm turning in my F80 next Spring with a new motor and Gintani crank hub. I'll remove the rest of the mods, but yeah. I also accidentally turned in my F31 with the AA piggyback and BMS oil catch can installed. Got all of my MSDs back. I wouldn't sweat turning it in previously modded/tuned.

I did see someone in the general F80 forums start a thread warning folks to avoid his car after he turned it in lol
