GTS - DCT Flash Feedback Review //Lets Hear It !

There has been a few scattered reviews, I thought members could get a feedback discussion in one place. and try to get a consensus on its benefits

-Some have said it solves the "bucking" issue the sometimes occurs when full throttle from a stop in first gear, have you experienced this?
-Less "Jerkyness"?
-Smoother Rev matches ?

So lets here your reviews & impressions

So..... you looking for reviews on any company that does these flashes... or a specific company?

I think he's referring to Alex@alipine's gts flash. I had this done and overall drivability got better, way faster shifts, no more jerkiness when down shifting from 2nd to 1st. Car should of came this way.

I heard that everyone is flashing the same GTS file having downloaded it from the car. No one has actually developed a custom TCU tune.

+1 for let's hear reviews. I am interested if it actually (at least partially) solves clutch slippage on more powerful cars

I'm interested in the GTS software as well. Is it the same cable that I previously used for Alex to code my car?

Yes, it is. I've had my car flashed twice by him first time the Euro DCT and now the GTS DCT, both times I used the cable that I purchased from him.

Can't we have this through BMW officially? Don't you agree if everything about the hardware is the same for the GTS , they should give this to the customer's who wants it? It feels like a software update on a computer part no matter which hardware you have if it's compatible with the upgrade, it should come for free.

That what common (consumer) sense suggests. But knowing how any serious manufacturing/engineering company works in terms of releasing parts and software. They would need to conduct endless tests of this software on a non-GTS car to confirm that safety, comfort, durability, interaction with other components and systems (and there are many) is absolutely unaffected. Those confirmations would have to be given by several dozen of various departments at BMW. Testing would cost money. There is simply no business case in it for BMW. From where they stand the stock non-GTS TCU software is perfectly fine for the non-GTS cars.

Thanks for another pov, I could consent that I want it and I would take the responsibility for it from the forum what I see many may do it as well like beta testers they could do it for the people who are out of the warranty like me and if anything goes wrong they would get money to fix otherwise they would have a better car in market, this could be their business case okay let's pass on it so that we don't kill the actual thread.

If the GTS car do not run the water, it uses the standard map, not 500hp. So it uses the GTS DCT flash with the standard or ZCP map and runs okay.

Alex is my assumption correct on what is actually being do to our cars if we proceed with your offering; .....is that is flash in installed in a somewhat similar manor in which the Alpina TCU flash / M3 GTS flash was done on the e9x generaiton some years back...Meaning the firmware is already present on the DME/TCU and you are able to locate or unlock said firmware and rewrite the TCU unit remotely?

I have a GTS EGS flash and prior to this I had stock 59.1 EGS and don't notice much of a difference, that is on my stock M4, shifts were already smooth, quick. As to "jerkiness" on downshift from 2 to 1, it varies upon many different factors and settings. It is possible I am wrong!

Thanks for the review!! I think I will wait for more reviews before flashing.
