RW carbon spoiler issue
Purchased the spoiler in August and noticed today that there is already discoloration and fade with less than 3 months of use.
I emailed RW asking for refund or replacement....I'll update once I hear back. |

Should keep it treated with a detail spray to prevent hazing. Also check to make sure it is not clouding that you might have missed prior...clear coat clouding cannot be buffed out

Hmmm thats very odd. Ceramic coating should last more than 2 months of protection. Because you said this, i dont think the spoiler is defective. Maybe the ceramic coating wasnt done right. If you miss a spot when buffing out the coating, it will leave a haze. Do a google search on how to fix this and see if it helps.

Reach out to RW and let us know. If they have integrity they should be willing to replace it.

I do own some pieces from RW Carbon... so far so good, I did get the pieces immediately covered in PPF if that makes any difference... but I definitely won't be buying from them again.

Haven't heard back from them yet, but not too hopeful as I've heard from several forum members that they always try to throw the fault at the consumer.....that it's never an RW quality issue according to them.

I had discoloration and the fitment was garbage... all of these issues out of the box.
I ripped it off, sold it, and bought the M performance lip. Now, I smile when i look at the car

Everyone always praises RW but I think they are over priced with average or below average quality products. From my understanding they dont make anything themselves and it all comes from china. Sorry if I offended any RW fans but if I am wrong about their production process please share. AA concepts thus far with my experience has been 10/10 on everything. I have side skirts, cs lip, carbon seat backs and have had zero issues with anything and the prices are much lower then RW

All my pieces from RW have clear coat issues.
They lasted for about a year and a half. I just had the hood refinished for 300$ and it looks brand new. |

Its true, RW sources their stuff from the same suppliers as ebay and ali sellers. Ppl go with RW because they are "suppose" to offer quality assurance and good customer service. That doesnt seem to be the case nowadays... You can say that about a lot of companies lately...

I've seen a couple people having problems with RW recently. My eBay spoiler and carbon from cheaper companies than RW has no issues, you shouldn't have to ceramic coat it or anything, that issue is unacceptable and the fact that they're not replacing it is showing a lot about their company.

A detail shop that does paint correction might be able to compound/polish it out. It might have to be ceramic coated again after the repair.
Take it to a bodyshop to see if they can wetsand it and respray a few coats of clearcoat. Not sure if it would be best to remove it first. then have it ceramic coating before reattaching it. I have the same RW Carbon piece. M4-style spoiler for a BMW F30 335i sedan. The BMW OEM piece is probably much better. BMW doesn't make the M4 spoiler for a F80/F30 sedan, so the only choice was a replica. Cheers |
