What would cause this to happen? Car not being driven for long periods of time and water absorbing into the E85 causing this reaction?

Likely many factors and water imo would be a primary one relating to gel and/or coagulation based on my knowledge. The specific additives would need to be analyzed both chemically in addition to actual mixing of the specific fuel...like I've explained not all fuels are created equally, transported equally, or stored equally.

If it was JUST losing an injector, I wouldn’t be worried about it. But there’s a chance it takes the motor along with it, so a better filter seems like cheap insurance.

i had same issue with the lucas ethanol treatment on my evo, fuel pump was covered in sticky green substance. i also ran a big aem filter in the back and one before the injectors and as far as the injector cleanliness nothing helped i found myself sending them to rc every two months, and even with that schedule at least 2 always dripped

What was the micron rating of the filter? You need under 6micron microglass to do any benefit and in my experience most products by AEM are lacking.

I had a 20 micron stainless filter and I plugged the injector baskets on a set of ID2000 injectors. Swapped to a 6micron microglass and no issue since. To report I lost a brand new $20k motor that had one half mile hit on it due to the injector baskets plugging and leaned out two cylinders in a high power pull.

Thanks. I'm gonna stop using the Lucas ethanol treatment.

Now I'm wondering if I have gunk built up haha.

I've only used a few bottles over the span of 6 months so not super long term.

I'm wondering if some Redline SI-1 will clear everything out.

The F750 is the best performance filter on the market imo.

Bend Calibrations uses the ID F750 filter system by injector dynamic. According to injector dynamics website the filter meets the Bosch specification.

Particle capture efficiency:

87% at 5 microns
100% at 35 microns

You don't hear about many losses like that on these forums. That was painful to read. Sorry dude.

Do you have a link to the microglass filter? Does it impede flow at all? I'm sure in that application you had more than enough fueling capacity to offset and affect the filtration had.

This was many years ago on my E46 with a high compression built S54 making over 1000. My new build has been running for many years without issue.

My M2C has had an F750 via Bend Calibration Ultimate Kit on it since I started flex tuning my car a couple years ago now with no issues.

The F750 linked above has the microglass filter as previously shown. That or the Radium Microglass would be the ones I'd recommend since they're designed for high flow, minimal pressure loss and outstanding filtration.

Bend Calibration now offers the filter-only kit: https://www.bendcalibration.com/shop...ilter-only-kit

I snagged one. Small price to pay for insurance and piece of mind IMO.

I also just picked up the filter only kit for piece of mind as well.

Does anyone have recommendations/experience with having injectors flow testing and cleaned?

Go back 1 page and read Commander's advice below the videos..RC in Cali. I've used them twice to check my parts.
