These look very similar to the ARM tips that you can get for cheaper. https://www.armmotorsports.com/colle...3-exhaust-tips

I just installed mine and I am happy with them.

Lol, in the member classifieds OEM, Vorsteiner, Streckenn, IND, RKP etc products are being offered for sale daily but can also be arguably substituted by alternate and cheaper brands by potential buyers. I choose not to comment.

The first photo is comparison of length showing a little over 0.5” longer than OEM. The notch for the peg on the exhaust pipe looks to be about the same amount.

Second photo is side-by-side comparison. You can see the huge difference in diameter.

Third photo is looking from top down. It sticks out about 0.5” more than OEM. I ordered the version with logo by mistake, but it’s very subtle and I’m fine with it.

Fourth photo is looking down the barrel. The inner sleeve fully covers the tip of the stock exhaust pipe. There’s no gap all around.

Unfortunately, it was already evening when I got around to install. So most of the photos were taken with a flashlight. If anyone wants to see more of how they look, I can take better photos tomorrow.

No clamps to mess with or see. The tips go on like OEM tips and they are 5/8” longer than stock tips.

Do the BMS (v1) tips protrude 1/2"-5/8" further out than OEM like the Mode tips do? It's hard to tell from the pics.

Edit: From this video it looks like they are longer than OEM (and would therefore presumably stick further out) https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...57&postcount=4

Base exhaust

Does anybody know the difference between the base exhausts and the competition/m exhausts in terms of sizing for these aftermarket tips? Not too much info on the web, I want to know if these would fit my base exhaust.

Yes mine tracking was the same. Once I saw that it changed to “In transit” after Sidney, they got delivered the day after.

Best tips are the ceramic coated ones so that when you our your little one bumps into them there is no burn.

+1 for Mode Tips. These things are AWESOME!!

Here's the write up in my build thread. As you can see from the pics included, I can confirm that they do stick out 7/16" further than OEM...or 11mm for all you guys outside of USA/UK
https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...3&postcount=31

And with more pics (before, during, and after installation)
https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...2&postcount=32

And if you'd like to see my entire build thread, it's below in my sig!

Looks great! After a year, my Mode tips are holding up well and still look brand new. Love the OEM+ look of these tips.

I'd like to point out, that the best hand-in-hand mod that one can do along with the tips is to paint the ballsack black. The combo of black chrome Mode tips along with a black ballsack is a GAME CHANGER

Here's my post on that as well
https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...9&postcount=33

And a few more recent pics (three months later) in better lighting

I got the Mode tips. Does anyone else's exhaust not have that centering pin to slot into? Mine seems to be missing it thus causing possible movement and rotation of the tips. Anyone got any ideas on how to resolve this?

My exhaust doesn’t seem to have the pin that slots into the slot on the tip. This was fine for a while but recently the tips aren’t staying in place anymore.

Maybe you have a M Performance Exhaust(MPE)?? If i’m not mistaken, MPE’s do not have the pins.

My exhaust tips were originally the M Carbon tips when I bought the car…. Is there an easy way to know if it’s MPE?

Dead give away would be the the M Perfomance logo on the bottom of the exhaust, like so.
