I bought one since my trunk kept opening by itself with the key in my pocket. Not sure if my key has sensitive buttons but has not happened since I put it in the key cover.

When I got mine I could tell that it was going to break.
I immediately went MacGyver on it. Solution: got a ring from another keychain that was not being used; easy, cheap and lasts long. |

I'd be expecting BMW to point, laugh, steal your wallet, and then push you into the mud.

Haha hardly a positive person, it's just that I really like this damn key holder, the GF bought me the first one, so every time I break one, I keep replacing it

When I first saw "made in china" on the box in another thread I called this. Sure there was lots of talk about global economy, and china CAN make good things blah blah, but ultimately i knew this POS would fall apart.
If this piece was actually built to a BMW standard to last and not outsourced to a common promotional material assembly line of airport kiosk quality type crap manufactured in China I think it had the chance to last. Maybe at 5-10$ its worth its price, but at $50 or what ever it is it could have been made with solid parts and by a reputable manufacture specializing in small leather goods etc (which are not located in china). Is that it is, but I saw a mile away. How about a $200 version made by Hermes or something. There are tons of quality leather good manufactures in Portugal and Itally that have a long history of manufacturing product built and proven to last. What not outsource to them? |

Bulky just got bulkier...you can afford an F8x you can afford to buy a new key if you can't handle scratches. But I don't use a gimmicky phone case either so wtf do I know. But I do wear condoms

These BMW key fob covers aren't worth it for me, I owned the previous version of similar type of key fob cover and it broke exactly the same way. I went the EBay route this time around and purchased $5-10 silicone key fob cover, does the job for me for scratch protection and accidental button presses.

Same thing happened to mine. I brought it back to the dealer and they warrantied it. Got a new one on the spot and haven't had an issue since.

Yes mine failed as well. Was replaced under "warranty."

Look on aliexpress or eBay.
If anyone wants to pay what its really worth. (Still probably too much)

I own it as well, to prevent scratching/accidental key presses as others mentioned, and agree that it's an overpriced piece of crap. The stitching on it is abysmal considering the MSRP.

Mine broke too, after 2 weeks of use. Returned it no problem. To be honest it was way to bulky. So much so that one of my friends said " hey nice purse".
