VRSF front mount intake question

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Recently installed the VRSF front mounted cold intake on my 2016 M4. First day or two no CEL then went to take it today for a drive and the CEL came on. Checked all the Mass Air flow censors and redid them to make sure they were seated correctly and still had CEL. Disconnected the positive battery connection still CEL, disconnected the negative...still on. Is this a common issue with this intake? Thoughts

So I'm assuming then I just need to clear the code? A Carly OBD hand held should be able to do that correct? I just hate seeing a CEL every time I drive it.

the only way to get rid of it is remove the intake and go back to stock boxes.

My front mount intakes weren't VRSF- they were Agency Power/VR Performance. But as someone else said this seems to be pretty much all brands of front mounts.

I had tons of lean codes and idle issues stem from having them on my M4. I thought I had a massive air leak or MAF sensors were dirty. I smoke tested, cleaned sensors. Car ran fine once it was warm, but on cold starts it would violently shake side to side like a cammed muscle car and would kill out completely sometimes.

They looked cool, but they were the issue. Not sure if it's the weird angled design of them and how the air interacts with the sensors or what, but there was something about the front mount intakes my car really didn't like. Went back to standard VRSF intakes under the hood, car idles fine with no codes

Just for another data point, I've got MSR front mounts and have never seen a code.
