BMW M4 vs Hyundai Genesis

Thank you for this post. I've really been on the fence about this, but now I'm finally gonna trade in my F82 for that Genesis Coupe.

I'm actually a car nut and like almost everything out there. I actually really like the Genesis. It's a truly impressive automobile regardless of price.

Someone really needs to create an account and explain to the poster it wasn't an M4 he raced.

You would think someone else would have already suggested that purely on a power to weight comparison of the cars.

I've seen the "Coupe" mentioned here a couple of times. It's the V8 R-Spec sedan that's being discussed at the Genesis site. No mention of any Coupe...

Anyway, if you are on that other forum, apart from the laws of physics making the feat impossible, you might also point to the instrumented tests like this one:

....showing the V8 sedan to achieve a 4.8 or 5.1 second 0-60.....which is only .9 to 1.2 seconds slower than the M3/M4.

And, lest one think those extra 2 cylinders will let it 'pull away' down the road, that 13.7 second / 103/104 mph 1/4 mile is only, oh, 2+ seconds and 16 mph slower than an M3/M4....

LOL I agree. I suspect the M driver was not seriously racing. I've had the occasional muscle car or modded "whatever" pull up along side of me only to get left behind. However, I'm not a street racer so I usually pull back and they continue through WOT after I've already pulled back and hit the brakes. Even though they can clearly see me braking, I'm sure the story is still "dude, I smoked an M4 today."
