Drivetrain Malfunction Issue - Have Codes, Looking for Advice (Wastegate, Actuator)

Hi,

So I purchased bimmerlink to read some of these codes. Car is a 2016 M4 with 30k miles. I've replaced plugs, coils, air filter, oil filter but was having this code issue prior to making all these changes. Here are the three codes I'm getting:

Error code: 123603, Electrical Wastegate 2, control: short circuit (mileage 49,654 km)
Error code: 138A02, Exhaust flap actuator 2, signal line: short circuit to ground (49,635 km)
Error code: 120408 Boost pressure control: shutdown as a follow up reaction. (49,635 km)

The exhaust flap actuators do open and close (both of them) as I checked with the bimmerlink app, so I'm thinking the issue is a recalibration of the wastegate or an outright swap? Has anyone come across something similar?

Car has no tune or mods.

Thanks for any advice.

Have you tried unplugging the battery for a bit for the computers to reset and clear the codes to see if they come back?

I had similar codes on my 2016 M4 and it was my charge pipe that was loose causing all sorts of issues. Reconnected my chargepipe and it's been fine since.

No connection to the wastegate. I would bet it needs to be replaced.

I removed the battery for five minutes and still am seeing the codes. I also used bimmerlink to delete the codes, but the Drivetrain malfunction reappears.

Update here. One of the members on this board recommended SZR Motorsports in Gardena. He looked up my VIN and since I'm in CA, he thinks my wastegate issue could be covered by CA emissions warranty. Taking it in tomorrow to find out. Awesome of them to propose that as a first step to save me $. Thank you Johnny!

First dealership said it wasn't covered under warranty. Now I'm taking it to Southbay who confirmed via e-mail that the emissions warranty is still intact.

Long overdue update. Took it to the dealer, wasn't covered. Spent about $600 and problem went away for about a few months. It was a hassle getting back down there so had a local guy come and look, reswapped plugs and was going for another 6 months months. Had the issue come back ( just one issue now. Wastegate). So I'll have the guy come back one more time. In the span of a year, only put 1k miles on it so it's frustrating to have these issues on a low miles car.
