Mysterious button in glovebox

Hi guys,

I'm the proud new owner of a long-awaited car I dreamt of for ages, meet my F80 M3 in Silverstone II with MPE...

Now, while activating the class-5 alarm I came across this button in the glovebox. It looks like its stock, but have no clue to what it does. Does anyone know?

I have neither those buttons or a net. Must be a EU thing.

I think they switched your car with one that was supposed to go to a 00-Agent.

That's the tactical emergency button that sends out a homing beacon and calls a QRF to your location.

Use it wisely.

Neither does my car. Nor does it have a "dashboard cabinet"

Havent seen that before, black button looks stock. Red looks like it was added. Looks like some sort of aftermarket alarm or immobilizer shutoff button.

New car or a used/CPO car? Very strange to find something like this on a brand new car. If brand new check the owners manual.

There's only one button, the silver one. The red thing next to the button looks like an LED.

My glove box has the black plastic square in that location, but sadly, no button. Anyway, the silver button appears to be OEM, just not on US spec cars.

What button, got a pic? It's probably the smoke screen, guided missile launcher or to flush the headlight fluid.

He posted a picture, but it does not show up in all browsers. For me, using Safari, the picture appears as one of those small blue squares with a question mark in it. I didn't think it would work, but when I clicked on it, the picture of the button opened in a new window.

The net is an EU thing to hold the cup holder cover that came standard in some markets (I have no idea why some markets, like the US, do not provide this as standard). I bought one for around $30 (without the net).

I'm definitely interested to know in whether this is a new car or a lightly used car.
