Low Tire Pressure Warning Adjustment
I’m daily driving NT555RIIs in the rear with Nitto recommended 25psi and tired of seeing a low pressure warning light and a screen warning message every time I start the car. Is there any way to lower the threshold psi with coding to avoid the warnings. Just 3 pounds lower should do it.

Whether i set my tire pressure high for street use or low for track days, my warning pressures are always based off of the pressures at the time of a reset. I’ve never encountered a situation where I went below a BMW-defined minimum pressure. If the Nitto’s max pressure is > 25, why not set it higher for the street and bleed off pressure at the strip?

Thanks for the response. Nitto recommends 25psi for even tire wear across the tread with street use. Maximum grip comes lower at about 13 to 20psi, depending on the track surface. I tried a reset with the pressure at 25 and it still gives the low warnings. 28psi seems to be the low threshold in my car.

You don’t have a set of rear street wheels you can use instead of drag wheels? My lowest pressure setting is around 28 pst so maybe I haven’t used hit the low threshold yet. Contact kubax86 and see if he can help you with altering the TPMS low pressure threshold value. |
